Smoky Mountain Escape games is a breath of fresh air
It was the weekend of my daughter’s 13th birthday, and we were doing random things she enjoyed doing. She asked for an escape room so, so we googled and found the list. After reading the reviews, looking at the number of players allowed, and the prices we decided to give Smoky Mountain Escape Games a shot. They may not be the first you see in a search, or a national name, they are a local business. Sometimes that means a little less to expect, but they guys did not cut the experience short. The number of players was very important to us. We have gone to escape rooms prior to this one. 2 of those had families or groups that pushed you out of the way to race and solve the puzzles. They were not there to have fun but to set a record of a completion time. We had 4 people in our party and these guys had rooms for 4 to 6 people. Other places offered that you could have a room for your group, but you would have to pay for the additional “places” to keep it just for your group. These guys had the perfect size rooms. The prices were good. The average price for an escape room experience from what we have seen. They are not shoved in the middle of “The Island” so their prices and attitude are much friendlier. They are close, in the Shops of Pigeon Forge shopping mall. This is refreshing to get a break from the crowd. We arrived early and the location was clean and inviting. We entered the store 15 minutes early and was greeted and welcomed. We did the Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland room. No spoilers, but this is one of the coolest new tech escape rooms I had heard of and got to experience. After the intro video the gentleman took us to the cube. It seemed small, but it is Alice’s place… As a pirate, missing one leg, the room was not overcrowded or hard to maneuver for its size. They have the IPOD in the room for the clues. You are given 3 hints, but unlike other places if you need more, they will let you without penalty which is nice. We finished the room, 2 minutes left, and my sister and brother-in-law said they enjoyed it. The only other escape room they did was one of the two bad ones mentioned before. We will be going back and trying their other rooms and new ones as they are added. I missed the name or forgot the name of the front desk guy, but you did a great job. Awesome customer service in a time where that is unheard of anymore. Maybe consider adding a frequent...
Read moreI’ve been to 15 escape rooms across 3 states, which included independent operations and franchises, and I can say that Smokey Mountain Escape Games (SMEG) is among the best. The room we did was very well put together. Puzzles were challenging but fair. Set design was outstanding. And several of the puzzles were original designs. The Game Master was attentive to what we were doing and immediately responsive to our requests for help (nothing is more infuriating than when you need a clue and the GM hasn’t been paying attention or flat out isn’t there when you call them).
But let me tell you where the SMEG shines above ALL OTHER escape rooms we have done. SMEG creates a very warm and inviting atmosphere before and after your game. All other escape rooms have you wait in what is essentially a processing area, and when you are done, you might get a picture before you are invited to leave. Not so at SMEG. They have a large open waiting area with a ping-pong table and snacks. After our game, my wife and I played ping-pong while the owner, Chris, made time to talk with us.
I highly recommend this establishment, and we now consider it a must stop experience for our future trips to Pigeon Forge. My only complaint...they were out of t-shirts when we went. Another...
Read moreI want to first start off with that my fiancé and I both have played plenty of Escape Games. I have to say some of the games we have played were okay and others have been lackluster at best. By far this company and team are not only the BEST but also CARE truly about YOUR experience as a guest. We have had games were something wasn’t working quite right and game guides had to come fix something. We played a haunting and when you first enter you are set into this spooky atmosphere which set your entire game! We had something that didn’t open right and Chris (our game guide) not only fixed it but scared us to keep the atmosphere and experience the same. That showS me as a guest that these people truly care about your experience and strive to make it the best. If like being SCARED, like SCARY movies, like HAUNTED HOUSES or playing SCARY games, play A Haunting. It is not only the best game you will ever play, but the details and the time that went into creating this games is the BEST. Smoky Mountain Escape Games are also reasonably priced and family owned. I honestly think they should charge more because of the experience and the time that went into games. We will continue to keep...
