This was my first time to experience this show; historically I've visited the Dixie Stampede. I visited with my daughter for her 27th birthday and we purchased premium seating tickets. After seeing the VIP seats, I am glad we didn't purchase those tickets as I much preferred our premium seats. Most seating is stadium style so everyone can see thanks to the gradual incline in elevation, but the VIP section is two rows of floor level seating. I'm short; this would not have worked well for me.
The show was incredibly well rehearsed and highly engaging. From beginning to end, the performers had my attention. And high level accolades is extended to the set crew. Wow, absolutely amazing artistic skills on display!
All employees were friendly and helpful. The crew serving food, also incredible! And the food...excellent. large portions. You will leave satisfied.
As other reviewers noted, the waiting area is too small to house all customers. It was irritating to try and walk anywhere in there due to the crowd. The bathrooms are limited...very few stalls and always a long line at the women's restroom.
Glad I went? YES! Would I recommend to others? Yes!
Recommendations: Add more condiments trays to each table. It's hard to interrupt strangers mid show to constantly pass the condiments.
Enhance your note about tipping servers to include your onsite ATM location and include venmo cards for individual servers. We arrived without cash and did not notice the ATM until departure. I noted most customers not leaving a tip as they likely didn't have cash either. Ultimately we hunted down our server and asked for his Venmo. Please make it easier for customers to tip. I suggest placing notes in the lobby/entrance area so customers can get cash before the show. Also include this info in the email that is sent out after purchasing tickets. And you should consider the same concept for your performing crew. I could find no means for tipping them.
Add more employees to the drink/bar area. That line was long and painfully slow. (This may not be the norm and may have instead been a scheduling issue on the night of my visit.)
PLEASE find another way to sell customer photos outside of the show. This was so disruptive. Trying to pay attention to the show over the nearby employee & customer chatter about photo prices was annoying. And it just goes on and on as the employee moves along to every customer beside, in front, and behind.
Food recommendations: As noted by another reviewer the Mac & cheese could use some love. It doesn't match the higher quality of the other food items served. I also suggest 3 desert options or change the chocolate/coconut option to be chocolate only. Chocolate is popular;...
Read moreAbsolutely fantastic place for the entire family. The wait in line prior to entering the establishment at your time can be long. I recommend buying your tickets on line. This ensures you have a seat. All shows sell out very quickly. There is ample parking available. The outside of the establishment sets the tone for what's to come during the show. Please look at my pictures and videos taken during the show. You can take pictures and record without a flash. This distracts the performers. After watching the entire show. I understand why no flashes are allowed. The acrobatics of the performers is "Spectacular!" When you arrive at the entrance of the building you check in with 2 workers. Your tickets are ready for you to pick up. You are directed to the proper line. On yeah, left side of the building. There's a fenced in pool. Where you will find 2 seals. To entertain children before entering the establishment. The walls at the steps are covered in pirate maps. Once inside the lobby you see the restrooms, souvenir store and a large beverage counter. Alcoholic beverages and beer can be purchased her. You can purchase pirate mugs to keep after you finish your drinks. The meal. "FABULOUS !" The meal consisted of New England Chowder served in a large mug. Next came fried chicken, biscuit and a baked potatoes and a slice of ham. Desert was a fried apple turnover. Drinks consisted of milk for the children. Ice tea, sweet and unsweetened. To include lemonade. Everything was served by servers. The entire theater was set up in sections. Which had servers assigned specific rows. The main floor in the center had a pool. Set up like the deck of a ship. Walls to our right were also decorated to be 2 different ships. Two teams. The blue and red. We were on the red team. Our seats were dead center of the stage. The perfect seats. We had a 5yr. Old in our party of 5. He ate chicken, ham and biscuit.. He was glued to the stage the entire performance. Which lasted 1 1/2hrs. It seemed to fly by. After the performance everyone left back out through the lobby. Souvenirs were readily available at the souvenir shop. Swords, tee shirts and pirate hats, and eye patches can be purchased. Monitors around the lobby play asking you questions. About the life of pirates. The special effects used during the show is mind blowing. The acrobatics of the performers is spectacular. I've included a few videos with my pictures. I highly recommend this dinner and show combo. The highlight of our trip to Pigeon Forge. Don't forget to keep an eye out for...
Read moreThis dinner show was definitely a highlight of our vacation! To start out, the welcoming staff are amazing. Friendly, courteous, and they remembered us from when we went to purchase tickets earlier in the day. The entrance is very well-organized. We were pleased to see a security guard who was friendly and personal, because we appreciate that they want to keep their guests safe while they enjoy themselves. When you walk in, there's so much to do! There's face painting for the kids (pirate and mermaid themed), photo ops, a gift shop, and a bar that also serves hot chocolate, coffee and cappuccino. You order your drinks from there in two sizes, skull cup and pirate cup. We love our skull "coffee" mugs. More on that further down. Next, we headed to the gift shop and played around with the array of pirate gear. At this point, my 42-year-old fiance wanted to get his face painted like a pirate (he didn't, but there were grownups doing it.) The seating area for dinner and show is set up stadium style, and they sold tickets in a way that kept everyone as close as possible to the middle for the best view possible. Each row of 16 guests has their own server. I can't say enough about how amazing ours was. We were seated next to a family with small children, and Tyler (our server) engaged with them, getting them excited about seeing pirates and mermaids, puppies, and a sea lion. The show begins with a magical flight of the parrots. The animal handlers throughout the show, by the way, clearly care for the animals in their care. The show is humorous with sweet moments and action moments, and original songs. There is a storyline, but it's secondary to the gymnastics, diving tricks, swordplay, animals (I love Salty the Sea Lion), and aerial dancing. There are times in the show where they pull children up to participate. One note: there is a point in the show where there's a blackout and cannon fire. Something to be prepared for for children or if you have PTSD. It lasts a few seconds. The food was delicious and very filling. Standouts were the biscuits, creamy vegetable soup, and the apple turnover. It's all served in a really organized way so that you get your food quickly. I had to ask for a knife (which I realize could have thrown Tyler off his game) but he was quick to bring it. One more shout-out to Tyler: we left our skull mugs at the table, and they'd been cleared before we could get back up. He walked with us to the bar and got us two more, free of charge. Overall, a truly magical night, whether you're a kid or a...
