We booked online and within a few hours we were contacted and asked if we would be willing to change rooms, told it would be an additional $40 but we agreed since they stated it was a handicap room and they needed it (honestly I felt as if they shouldn’t charge the additional $40 since they asked we change). When we check in we were informed it was $40 each night meaning the $40 went to $120. It’s now 11:00pm we’ve drove 7 hours and exhausted so we just pay it. Upon entering the room we find a clogged toilet and bugs all on the wall around the curtains and 2 in the jacuzzi. We call the office they state there’s no other room available and can inform the manager in the morning. The following morning we stop by the office on our way out to enjoy the day. Lady at the front desk just makes out like it’s no big deal claim that she has the same bugs at her house right down the road but that she would inform the manager. We return to the room about 9:30pm notice the same dead bugs in the jacuzzi, clogged toilet still and the fireplace doesn’t work. We call again, front desk states management should of handled it but she will send someone up for the toilet and someone should check the fireplace tomorrow. We left this morning and stopped by the front to recap all that has taken place in hopes that when we return it will be handled. Very unprofessional and disappointing!….. upon checking out still have not heard from general manager or any manager, called again today and was informed they were very busy trying to get ready to close up for renovations for the next three months I sure hope a responsible professional management team is included in these renovations! I will be contacting another location to see if I might can be pointed in the right direction of...
Read moreI must admit, I usually steer clear of hotels like this (rooms w/doors that lead directly outside vs a "inside hotel"). Only booked it because it was the only hotel available for my price point with great reviews. Since it is a holiday weekend, our room is just about $200/night. Even on our way here, I was contemplating canceling my room.
Boy... were we in for a treat! The check-in went smoothly, so that was an automatic green flag. Then we saw the outdoor pools. yes, poolS! Aside from the inside pool in the first building, the outside pools were great at the second building. How often do you see hotels with multiple pools? Rarely! They have a 1ft pool that is perfect for toddlers/babies, a regular pool, and a hot tub!! We enjoyed it all weekend.
The rooms are recently updated at well! Their is a minor imperfect in our bathroom, but the good definitely outweighs the bad.
Then you have the breakfast. We were pleased. You know what they say, its always the minor details. Thank you for providing THREE waffle makers! This made the flow of the line much faster. There is a full breakfast.
Almost forgot to mention the location. The Island is DIRECTLY across from the hotel, so you dont have to deal with the frustration of parking and traffic. It's an amusement park/mall. Thats just one attraction - there are TONS of others in the same spot!
10/10 would DEFINITELY recommend. We travel all across the nation and stayed in more expensive hotels, and this ranks up there for our family. Its not your basic Quality Inn
Will definitely book this again for our family...
Read moreWe enjoyed our stay very much! The staff was very helpful and friendly. The hotel is across from Dolly Parton’s Smoky Mountain Adventure. We requested and stayed in a King Suite with whirlpool tub. It was very nice and the updates to the room with the bedding and bathroom counters, tubs, etc were great! No safe in the room. The room was spacious and we liked having a small refrigerator/microwave area for snacks and drinks. There is a small area across from that refrigerator to hang clothes, but it was enough room for 2 people staying a week, even with jackets. We were in the first building where the check-in is, so we liked that as well as being close to the indoor pool, hot tub and ice machine/vending machine area. There are bistro type tables there too for families. It was a very inviting, large pool and they have beach towels by the pool. However, you have to walk outside to your room after a swim, so be prepared in cold weather. I will definitely request this first building again even though the breakfast is in the second building behind this first one. It's just a short walk and we preferred being closer to the front and the pool than breakfast (which was very good with a large variety). We decided to stay an extra night, and they worked it out for us to be able to stay in the same room which was very nice of them! We hope to come...
