The Walden, Trademark Collection By Wyndham — Hotel in Pigeon Forge

Oh my gosh! We've been to Pigeon Forge about a hundred million times, but this was the 1st time we stayed at a Walden hotel. Our room was HUGE & super nice! The details, like the wall that was a solid picture of The Wheel, & the lights under the beds (which creates a nice lighting at night if we left only them on) made the room extra perfect! We had to stay in town longer than planned (my dad did tell them we might need an extra night, but it wasn't booked for that night), so the amazing hotel staff worked hard for us, checking their system & talking to incoming guests, to allow us to stay in the room we were in, rather than having to change rooms. Aside from being an inconvenience to change rooms, we were really benefiting from the accessible room because my mom had her electric scooter. This room had tons of space to maneuver it around in with ease! So, it was an absolute delight when they called our room & told us we didn't have to move! They really went above & beyond for us! I also want to mention that the beds were extremely comfortable & we loved that the accessible room had such a huge bathroom, complete with a (very clean) shower chair! Then there's the balcony... We had a nice balcony with a view that overlooked Paula Deen's Lumberjack Feud & a beautiful view of the whole area! We were blown away! Also... Seeing the 2 princess carriages parked in the back parking lot every night & morning was a huge treat! Seeing them being ridden through the parking lot (part of their route) was even...

Do not book this hotel in the chance you could have the same situation my family and I were put in tonight. My husband, two young sons and I checked into this hotel a little after 8pm and went into our room to put our belongings in it. We then left to get a later dinner after a long day of traveling and came back to opening our room door and being knocked over by the stench of marijuana. We contacted the staff immediately, but we were told that the only way they could handle this situation and issue a refund properly would be the manager of the hotel handling it. At the time, they were not expected to be back into the hotel until the following morning. The receptionist did try reaching said manager, but was unsuccessful. I then contacted the Pigeon Forge police to explain my frustration and hopefully find the people who were causing this issue and have action taken due to them breaking a well known hotel policy. The police did a walk thru of the hotel and explained they could smell the marijuana, but could not take further action without search warrants. Multiple other complaints were made in this entire process. This is beyond frustrating as we had to leave our room and are now searching for an open hotel room unexpectedly at midnight due to management not being available to address our concerns immediately. Stayed here for a quick spring break get away with my family. We checked in with a very friendly and accommodating staff. The bald guy was the best! Check in was super fast because I did it online before our stay. We headed up to 512 on the 5th floor. First the kids had complimentary lemonade and raspberry juice. This is a nice touch. The kids loved it. Our room was exceptionally clean and well maintained. Super comfortable beds and bedding. Fridge, microwave and k-cup coffee. A nice little balcony with great views. Everything was great with our modern room. It was quiet at night and we actually got some sleep. We also used the pool and hot tub that night. All clean and very well maintained. The hot tub was much appreciated after walking around Gatlinburg all day. It had indoor and outdoor pools and hot tubs. In the morning we had a fantastic free breakfast. Waffles, country ham, potatoes, eggs, cereal, bagels, muffins, milk, juice, and coffee. Really a good breakfast. I was so impressed with this place. A great value for the money. We stayed here because of it's ratings on Google and booking.com and it didn't disappoint. Excellent location with plenty of parking. A great stay at an exceptional property.
