It pains me to give such a negative rating to a place with such a friendly and knowledgeable staff and a very nice, very discreet facility. My bigger issues are with I guess what you would refer to as administration problems. First of all, their stock is very heavy on their Ilera-grown products---which makes sense given it's their product, but that shouldn't substitute for stocking a wider variety of companies. However, my biggest problem is with the inconsistencies between their menu and their actual stock and prices. I had actually started going to Liberty up in Norriton, where they have much more reasonable price points and variety, but there was a line out the door today so I decided to give Ilera another shot. Out of almost 7 strains I had earmarked in their print menu, 4 weren't even on the live menu----and then there are the discrepancies between the live menu itself and the actual stock. But most infuriating are the disparities between the pricing on the live menu and the actual cost. There were probably about 5 strains that were listed as $15/gram, of which I had selected 2--I had only $50 and was planning on getting those 2 and another strain for $20/gram. However, when I was rung up, the tab came to $60. I asked why and directed her attention to the prices on the menu behind her, at which point she asked the supervisor, who came over, took a look, and concluded that every one of the strains that were priced at $15/gram were errors that he needed to fix. Look, I'm sorry, but that basically amounts to a bait-and-switch (or price gouging). I specifically decided to go there based on their advertising of less expensive options...only to find out that once I got to the register, there were, in fact, none. I've spent a good chunk of my life managing retail environments, and although they are wholly different industries, they both thrive on customers leaving satisfied and therefore, likely to continue giving you their business...at that point, the appropriate thing to do would have been to charge me the erroneous listed prices and fix those errors for future sales. Instead, I left there with just half of what my $50 should have bought and a firm decision that they have all-but-permanently lost...
Read moreHorribly mismanaged. It is all peaches and cream until they do something wrong or act unprofessionally. Far to much autonomy at the store level. After having a horrible 6 hour experience because the inept manger hunkered in place, instead of sending out bulk emails notifying of a closure (something they now do, even after unsubscribing), he had the receptionist at the door turning people away. But at first via the intercom, then physically. First trip it was not obvious it was closed, I then called 4 times, then went back and got close enough to the door to find out they were closed. Then it was rush hour, after that i drove 25 miles to thorndale on a day i really needed the medication after being off it for a while. When i got home i emailed the poorly managed store told them i would not return unless they instituted an emergency closure policy. Then I emailed the other two pa locations insisting they implement, in the event of a closure): bulk email, bulk text, change the outgoing phone message (since ryan true either decided to NOT answer the phones or the company does not have the phone service to answer multiple calls (this was true's false claim) and or change the website, or institute a better plan, and confront plymouth with its gross incompetence.
The day AFTER I PROCLAIMED I WOULD NEVER RETURN, RYAN TRUE CALLED THE POLICE AND SAID I WAS HARASSING HIM, USING THE POLICE TO BAN ME FROM THE STORE AFTER SAYING I WOULD NEVER RETURN; HE FILED A FALSE POLICE REPORT TO INTIMIDATE A CUSTOMER. I HAVE ALL THE DATED EMAILS THAT A MANAGER OF APOTHECARIUM USED THE POLICE TO INTIMIDATE A CUSTOMER AFTER THE CUSTOMER SAID HE WOULD NEVER RETURN, ACTING OUT OF SPITE IN A PAID POSITION.
On top. Illeria is garbage, inconsistent, and I have found 5 seeds in an 1/8 before. You might as well boil vegetable oil than vape Illeria vape. Considering the cost and aggravation; this place is not even worth considering or wasting your time on.
The best part it, there is no corporate complaint line; it is obvious under the management of ryan true that we must put up and shut up OR BE INTIMIDATE WITH A FALSE POLICE REPORT; HE SHOULD BE ARRESTED. THERE ARE LAWS AGAINST HIS...

Overview: Ilera was the second dispensary I visited. It was easy to reach, located adjacent to the Turnpike and Blue Route in Plymouth Meeting, and the parking lot has ample spaces even during more crowded hours. The interior is bright, open and welcoming, with cannabis magazines and other reading materials for you while you wait—though I’ve never been kept waiting more than 5 minutes. The staff are uniformly friendly and helpful, though some more knowledgeable and experienced than others [i.e. with the specific medical conditions each variety of cannabis, etc.] Also, as with many dispensaries, if you know what you are looking for, you can “pre-order” online*. Yes, the Commonwealth does insist that you go to the dispensary, with your ID, pay for your order, and take it home.
The Problem [well, kinda]: Initially it seemed like a couple of one-off issues with maintaining adequate stock of certain items, and when I tried to get around the problem by choosing an Ilera “brand” product. Unfortunately, there was a brief conversation which left me with the idea that they had run out of stock of even their own product… As it turns out, it was just an unfortunate case of miscommunication—one which I will correct in the next paragraph.
Resolution: Before writing off Ilera as a viable option, I decided to call and (in my mind) offer another opportunity to either tell me how my perceived inventory problem was my problem or something else… I will admit that I was pleasantly surprised at the tone of genuine concern and the amount of time offered to me to explain the issue I was having. The earlier miscommunication and my frustration were quickly sorted and smoothed over, and I can happily restore Ilera my full 5-star rating.
One final item worth mentioning is that Ilera accepts CanPay as a form of payment—an app on your phone links securely to your bank account. With CanPay, you complete the transaction by logging into the app and showing the QR code on the screen. In my limited experience with it, it seems easy, safe, and has no transaction...
