My wife went to upgrade her phone, employee told her she wasn't an authorized user (she was). Proceeded to activate her phone on the acct (?) told her the phone was switched over but no apps switched just messages and contacts which are saved to Google account. Would not give her the paperwork to trade in her old phone because she was not an authorized user--told her she had 30 days to figure it out so she could keep both phones until then but she would not be given the trade in discount if she didn't return the phone in 30 days (with no paper work to do so). I went back to do the same, found out she was an authorized user from a different employee. Had my new phone activated but again employee could not figure out how to transfer my apps and pics, etc--said sometimes phones are glitchy. This is why I came directly to the store rather than switching Sim card, and doing the transfer myself with a phone call to AT&T. Which was also suggested when the transfer was taking longer than expected--the employee said this is taking a while you know you can fo this at home. My son was activating a new phone the same day before a trip out of state, employee said he was all set, verified set up, we left and everything the employee was doing was on wifi so we found out after the store closed that there is actually no cellular service on that phone. So he is out of state without a phone to contact us if there is an issue. The employee did stay late trying to help and the store is clean, relatively well stocked which is why I gave 3 stars instead of 1. The end result of our visits was like most things these days where twenty somethings are a vital link in the chain, less than satisfying and incomplete. They all seem to tell you that they know everything but rarely does the actual outcome display this sense of confidence.
Update: I have upgraded the rating on this store. After returning to discuss the aforementioned issue the same employee was working. Once again he stayed late to help us. He spent a lot of time online and on the phone with corporate ATT to remedy our problem. He worked through multiple setbacks that day in getting my sons phone connected and now everything works...
Read moreAs soon as the "owner' of the store started to help me he called to his colleague and said, you can take over this one over as soon as your done, since the last one took me 40 minutes and I gotta go". He then proceeded to be extremely rude, I told him he was not being helpful, he then said immediately to me, "you can go, I deal with people like you all the time" He obviously was in a hurry and wanted to find an exuse get out of the place. I honestly, don't blame him. He was a miserable individual who does not belong in retail. When I asked for his name, he refused to give me his name and said "I am the owner" and you can leave.I left and went home and called ATT customer service, gave them the account number and PIN number to the account and they immediately helped me purchase a new phone via telephone. The ATT customer service corporate could not have been nicer and able to accomodate my request immediately. Very sad state of affairs if the representative at the PLYMOUTH Commerce Way ATT is the owner and behaved the way he did in front of his own staff. A poor example of leadership skills. My recommendation is to DO NOT GO TO THIS ATT LOCATION, rude and...
Read moreI recently made the switch from T-Mobile to AT&T and had a genuinely great experience at the AT&T store on Commerce Way. I’ve typically been loyal to Sprint/T-Mobile, so I was a little hesitant—but the whole process couldn’t have gone more smoothly.
They had my number ported over in minutes, and the staff went above and beyond to help get my phone fully set up, including transferring all my data. The location itself is a bonus—it’s far less crowded and way more responsive than some of the other stores in the area. They were even more helpful when I came in a few days later to turn in my trade-in after I made sure everything had transferred over. I had a few questions and they got me straightened out and saved me some money.
A special shoutout to Michael, my sales rep. He was friendly, patient, and clearly knows his stuff. I really appreciated how easy he made everything—both times. His manager Wesley and their new trainee were also super friendly and helpful. All around, a solid experience. Definitely recommend this location if you're making a switch or need help...
