This review is not of the three employees who were on last night. I've worked in similar industries in high school and usually the lack of training in these establishments is pretty common. I was told by a friend that her location caters to a lot of gluten free customer's. It's super hard for me to go out and "trust" places when it comes to my allergy. But this year my husband and I have been trying to branch out and try places out.
We walked in, I was looking around at the menu and couldn't really find anything deemed gluten free which is fine, so I decided to ask. I was told pretty much everything is gluten free minus three flavors. But I've never been here and I noticed the mixing station being "quickly" wiped down every few orders. Nothing was really explained to me and honestly what was odd is I wasn't asked if this was an allergy or a preference which I'm oddly enough always asked no matter where we've been.
After feeling rather overwhelmed I decided to not order anything, I just can't risk it, it's not fun getting glutened, trust me. I've learned that I can usually tell if a station will be cleaned but I had a feeling this wasn't going to be the case. And for 7-10$ per ice cream I wasn't about to waste my money on something I'd have to throw out.
My hubby ordered an ice cream off the menu to be promptly told they didn't make chocolate ice cream? Just seemed odd, i worked for an ice cream shop in the city with far more foot traffic and we never had that issue. But I don't blame the employees, I just realized it aint...

I looked up on my phone what time cold stone closes which it stated 10 pm . When we pulled into the parking lot no exterior lights nor interior lights were on. I happened to see an employee through the window standing in the dark. So I decided to call the store which an employee answered . I asked her what time the store closed and she replied 10 pm which I said thank you and hung up. Within seconds we noticed the interior lights of the store turn on and an exterior âopenâ sign light up. You need to re evaluate your employee because they are costing you $ if they are prematurely closing . If I didnât make a call I would of assumed they were closed and brought my business...

Then being man-splained to about how a credit card machine works by an employee⌠I ordered a small ice cream (which wasnât made correctly) but I said nothing cuz I didnât wanna cause a problem, then I go to pay and the dude is trying to explain to ME how the credit machine works. I am well aware on how a credit machine works SIR. It came off as incredibly sexist. Only when did I give him the stink eye did he kind of stop. But not really.
