The Uptown Theatre — Local services in Port Townsend

The theater has been upgraded, and the sound and projection are very good, in spite of it's totally derelict looking building. What's difficult, is finding out what's playing currently (they only play one movie at a time), and what is coming next. The website no longer works, so you have to go to their Facebook page. Not sure how you would find out what is upcoming. They tend to show the movies that appeal to the younger set (more action/adventure/animation/sci-fi). Concessions are fairly basic - popcorn, candy, soda, tea.

It may not look like anything special on the outside, but the inside is beautiful. It's like a Victorian home with regal colors and drapes. There's a fully stocked snack bar with real buttered popcorn (No alcohol) and accessible bathrooms. But the real gem is the theater itself. The theater is much bigger than you would think just looking at the building from the outside. Great lighting and atmosphere. The seats are big and comfortable with cupholders. The screen is the perfect size and the new Dolby sound system is incredible. We actually prefer Uptown over the Rose Theater because they always have the latest films and a perfect showing time at 7:30pm daily. Love,...

They said that they were playing the hunger games Monday through the Thursday 4:30-7:30 pm and I went to go see it with some friends we were waiting outside for it and one of the staff or something came out and said ooh what are you doing here are you staying out of the rain (ps there was a long line waiting to) and we were like no we are waiting for the movie and they said ooh we are playing a movie?
