Long Review - MEN PLEASE READ
I had been a patient of Dr. Chang's for over 10 years. I had a suspected fungal itch on my penis foreskin and my physician mentioned I might run it by Dr. Chang when I saw her. I did and she determined nothing definite but provided me with two different sample ointments. I was told I could apply both as needed. I received no literature or warning or concerns. Four months later I was there for another issue and she inquired how this issue was. I said it was off and on and she provided additional medication samples. Again, no literature or warning, concerns, nor any follow-up examination. In my next exam with my physician he inquired what the medications were. He told me one was a steroid and it thins skin and to discontinue it immediately. You can imagine the pain/discomfort in this area with thinned skin that can tear and the obstacles with having sexual relations. I saw two dermatologists who noted thinning of the skin. I called for Dr. Chang and provided her assistant with details of my concerns. Three days later I received a call back from Dr. Chang. On this call Dr. Chang told me that she had instructed me to apply the steroid once a day for 7 days only. First of all I did not know there was a steroid nor which one it was- but the large tubs that were determined to be steroid were marked "apply twice daily". I was given enough product that would last for months - to apply once a day for 7 days? I would have marked my calendar and followed-up with results following those instructions. She verified my steroid damage was permanent and I asked to meet with her for help - she told me it would not be productive - resigned me. With my physicians support and caution her records likely protect her, I filed with the OR Medical Review Board. Her records stated she provided warning of the risks of permanent damage. Any man believe they would heed this warning and proceed with this medication for an itch on their foreskin? Within 30 days the OMRB found no fault incredibly. I have discussed all details with a 40+ year experienced malpractice attorney. He said her actions were extremely reckless at best and he would be concerned for any man under her care for issues of this nature. I do not want this to happen to another person!!!
Response to Dr. Lee, yes this does not involve Dr. Lee. It was Renee Chang who practices at...
Read moreYears after my last review, everything I said about Dr. Lee’s caring hands is still true (“In Dr. Ken Lee’s hands, medicine meets magic meets artist. The spot he worked on is healed and invisible! Thank you, thank you, Dr. Lee.”) This time I must add that Dr. Lee is my new superhero. When I called with a question during the healing process, he saw me the next day and cleared something up within five minutes. Thank you, Dr. Lee, Emily, and Molly! What an...
Read moreI first visited Dr. Lee at OHSU for preventative care many years ago and then in his clinic in NW for laser treatments. Now I am having a melanoma scare with strong family history and they are making you wait up to 4 months with no consideration for the seriousness of melanoma. So they don’t care to possibly save your life with proper diagnosis. Receptionist was cold and callous. Not a bit of care or...
