Steph gave the absolute worst service I have received in years! I went in tonight with my boyfriend post Blazers game for some munchies because I heard they had delicious avocado fries (they do btw. Nom) This was my first time here. We walked in 5 mins till 9 pm and Steph as we came in gave us the weakest "sit wherever you'd like" with a wave over her head as she walked away. Okay fine, I figured she was busy...until I realized we were now one of 4 tables in the entire restaurant (most of which were already done as the Colts/NE Patriots game was finishing up on the big screens) Anyway so we sit at a big half circle couch in front of the screens and wait a good five minutes until Steph finally wanders over asking if we've been helped. Um nope, no we haven't. Been waiting for you since you're obviously slammed (insert sarcasm here). So we make it really easy, it's 9 now and the menu says happy hour has begun so we order avocado fries and nachos and have waters. That's it. Nothing crazy. I even used my please and thank you ;) Steph wasn't impressed. In fact, she seemed rather annoyed we walked in. So annoyed in fact that she has started cleaning, as has the bar tender and back room help...sweeping, disinfecting counter tops, the back lights to the bar were turned off, cleaning tables, the works. I was so put off by the obvious "I rather you not be here" vibe that I pulled out my phone and googled the hours. It was only 9:15. The hours said they closed at 10. We uncomfortably finished our food and to make us feel even more welcomed, Steph had the nerve to come to the table and start wiping it down...WHILE we were still sitting there! We asked for the check and when it arrived everything was full price, not happy hour priced. I went up to the bar to investigate and as the bar tender tries to tell me "happy hour just started" (yeah at 9:25? Because that's typical) Steph walks up and less than pleasantly says, I'll fix it. Then proceeds to tell me, "sorry, I just didn't realize what time it was" SERIOUSLY? but you knew it seemed like the best time to be rude and clean and blow us off? I'm sorry if you're tired or had a rough day or whatever excuse you'd like to dream up but treating us so poorly and making us feel so inconvenient is never acceptable. What an absolute poor representation of this company. If you don't want paying customers, turn off your open sign. If you don't want to give customer...
Read moreI was looking for a place for a group of friends (16 people) to get together, have brunch and watch football. I called -~ 3 weeks in advance to make a reservation. I was told the available times were 10 am and 1230 pm (at the start of the games). I chose 1230. I had not received a confirmation call/ text so I called the day before. Jan (who I found out the next day was the owner) confirmed our reservation. As I was driving over on Sunday, my friends began texting that they didn't have our reservation. One staff member was very rude saying we don't even take reservations. They told us we could have 2 tables up top (8 seats total) and apart from each other. Then we could have the couch after the other people left (only seats 8-10 and no table to eat brunch, etc) or, basically, we were told we had to wait till people left and that it would be 30-45 min.. With 16 people already parked and waiting, we stayed. Almost 90 min after our reservation time, we were finally sat. The staff seemed annoyed and short with us like the situation was our fault. It was uncomfortable and we felt like everything we asked for was a bother. Our food came (2.5 -3 hours after our reservation time) then they forgot one of my friend's orders. We had all finished eating when his finally arrived. They never even offered to comp his sandwich nor offer a draft beer or mimosa to us for our patience or text extreme inconvenience. On top of that, they added a 20% gratuity. I can't express how poorly this situation was handled and how we were...
Read moreI give the Fields 3 stars, only for its servers, who were efficient and fun, the lovely wine I had, and for its patio heaters. We wouldn't have chosen the restaurant but our first option did not have a covered, heated patio, as advertised. Also the weather had quickly changed and it was suddenly rainy and cold. We aren't ready to dine inside yet, so we alerted staff and they ignited the patio heaters. The patio smelled of urine near its edge, so we moved further in. I ordered a sazerac, but they didn't have the necessary ingredients, so I chose a pinot noir that turned out to be lovely. I then ordered pasta primavera and my friend ordered grilled cheese and soup. Her order was fine; mine came out and it was mac and cheese. The server assured me that that was their pasta primavera, and I did find a few slivers of green and red pepper in it I was extremely hungry and so ate the food, though I'd normally have sent it back.My friend decided to order some key lime pie for dessert. What was served was cheesecake. It had a strong lime flavor, but it was clearly cheesecake. I was baffled by the choices made by the restaurant's manager and/or kitchen staff. I won't go back, but I'm grateful for the servers, the wine and the lovely heaters. But really, folks, at least rinse the urine off your patio...
