The Lady in the Moon — Local services in Portland

Alexis and Kate from Lady in the Moon were an absolute delight and we’re so glad we made them a part of our day! We knew from the time we picked out our invitations that we wanted a tarot reader at our reception. We initially called another well-reviewed reader in the area and didn’t have the greatest experience in the first few discussions, so we took a chance at walking in to Lady in the Moon on a busy weekend to ask if they were available and we were greeted with the warmth and excitement we hoped to feel about something we really wanted at our special day. They were super flexible with scheduling and receiving payment etc., not to mention a very reasonable price for the services. Before the event, Alexis asked if she could stop by to check in on things and take photos- so considerate- and we said of course! Everyone loved having their readings at the reception- Kate was very busy at that table the whole time. The exact timelines elude me because we had an open bar but I’m pretty sure Kate took several people who begged to have a reading after the window we had paid for had ended. Alexis & Kate were both such great additions to the party that we asked them to stay and drink and eat and dance the night away with us, and we’re so glad we did.

I was in town for a Bachelorette and our group decided that a tarot card reading could be fun. We booked through Alexis and had some odd requirements that she was more than willing to accommodate: We asked that the reader come to our AirBNB and do a group tarot reading. Catherine is the reader that was assigned to us, and she did NOT disappoint. She was extremely punctual and took the time to do a full reading for every single one of us (9 readings in 3 hours). It was so incredibly fun! Her readings were wholesome, inspiring and optimistic. The way she weaved the story and explained the cards, the placements and how they all related to one another was amazing. As someone who has never done a tarot reading, I was absolutely impressed and have a very high bar for the next time I experience something like this. While I haven't been to this shop, I reached out to the owner in advance of a weekend trip to Portland with close friends to see if she could recommend someone to read our Tarot cards. We rented an old house downtown and Rion came over for a few hours to give six of us each mini readings. Rion was amazing-warm, engaging, smart, insightful. I cannot say enough about the experience we had with him. We gathered around a large table and listened to him read for each of us. Alexis was easy to work with-communicated clearly and readily and knew just who to send. We are still talking about our readings a week later. I highly recommend arranging a mini reading if you and friends will be in Portland or if you already are.
