Belk — Local services in Prattville

This lady was the rudest salesperson I have ever dealt with. She basically begged me to use my Belk card. After the FOURTH time trying, I said I'm not using my Belk card if I have cash. She replied with ANOTHER attempt by saying why, you can just pay it off when the bill comes in. Girl, no... I'm paying cash and using my debit card. I do not have to be pressured into using a store brand cc when I'm not even spending over $200. When I finally told her NO for the 5th time, she became defensive. Saying well I guess you just won't get any points for this purchase. Okay? I AM NOT USING MY BELK CARD. I'm working on my credit to buy a house, not that it was any of her business. I have a choice on how I want to pay. The situation kept escalating and when she asked for my email, I told her to print the receipt. She asked me if she was offending me. I said yes, because I hear you mumbling things under your breath and that is very unprofessional. She didn't reply. My grandmother also had a purchase, in which this woman MADE her use her Belk card because she supposedly checked for points which my grandma had $20 and then all of a sudden when I went to pay with my grandma's debit card, the lady said... Well, if you use your points you have to use the BELK CREDIT CARD. I was like are you serious? A this point I was like fine, whatever lady. My grandma isn't trying to buy a house and needs her debt low, so please... use her credit card. She gave me severe anxiety and made me feel very nauseous. By the time I put my grandma in the truck I got sick in the parking lot. Your associate needs to be aware that if a customer says NO, it means no. I also work in sales, and I know there are quotas to fill and get 5 credit cards a day... But asking 5 times then being ugly for no reason? NO...

I have mixed feelings writing this review. I love this Belk in that it's one of the only stores around this area that gives the FEEL of being in a mallsincr we no longer have malls around here. Nevertheless, my husband purchased me a very EXPENSIVE ring that I ABSOLUTELY LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!!!!! However, my beautiful gem feel out a couple of days later when the prong bent. Ughhhh BROKE MY 💜! THANK GOD for the jewelry service plan he purchased because with it they are replacing the stone that was lost AND I asked them to RETIP THE PRONGS b/c they didn't completely secure the ring. Now I'm very happy about that...but when I tell you I experienced the most non-chalant, unconcerned, i-really-don't-feel-like-dealing-with-this-nor-you kinda manager I've ever encountered!!!!! She was more concerned w/taking links out of a $250 watch than even stopping 2 seconds to offer any kind of a whoa I hate that happened and we'll certainly take care of this $1300 ring that was purchased from US!!!! Its all good though....my ring is headed to the jeweler thanks to the service plan and I've learned how NOT to treat people. I pray God never allow anyone to treat that manager with the same lack of concern she offered us. Anywho....I can't wait to get my beautiful...

I had a very pleasant experience at Belk The lady in the shoe department was so friendly! I neglected to get her name however she was so helpful to me. I was having a little bit of a meltdown just because of life. But she stopped everything she was doing just to help and listen I was able to get the shoes that I wanted and she helped me decide which ones to get and which ones to put back to stick to my budget. She went far beyond what most department store clerks do these days.

UPDATE! I decided to check out Belk 07/21/2023 found out it was tax free weekend for school which meant no tax on clothes, shoes, and anything else you would need for college or school supplies. I was able to have this sales assistant Brian help me pick out the best shoes and give me the best deals and show me how to work the app to get my coupons. I went back two days in a row. I also want to get a watch.(Not tax free) he was friendly, and when I love his way to help me, thank you vote for hiring such a sweet young guy to help a lady who actually made a lot of help.
