As a handyman Iâve been to a lot of hardware stores over the years all over the country, this has to be the worst Home Depot Iâve worked with. Iâve started driving an extra 30 minutes just to use the nearest Loweâs instead. PT lumber is often inaccessible due to immovable unshelved stock not being stored properly and clogging the aisles or the pallet of lumber was too big for the pallet rack and was wedged between the shelves so hard that boards could not be pulled out. Had one cashier tell me to âhit yes twice on the screen if youâre doing creditâ, the second yes was to sign up for email spam, had to manually unsubscribe when I got home. The shelves are frequently disorganized causing price confusion when buying certain items, with one occasion a manager accused me of trying to pull a fast one and underpay for an exterior breaker box that was mislabeled as an interior one. Staff for the most part will not just ignore you, theyâll hang around having personal conversations in front of things youâre trying to get to even when itâs obvious why youâre standing there waiting. On one rare occasion an employee tried to help, I was pulling down a sheet of 3/4â MDF from a high shelf ( great placement btw, that stuff doesnât weigh a ton or anything) an employee ran up and without asking started pulling the sheet out with me, not realizing how heavy is was and once they took on the weight they dropped it 5 feet onto my foot, luckily I was wearing my steel toes so my foot didnât get horribly maimed but the board had the corner busted off so I had to grab another one, gee thanks, go away. Tried to buy drywall on a saturday morning, canât do that, they have some childrenâs event on Saturday mornings that they deem necessary to close off that aisle for, too bad for you. Went into the store to place a delivery order, associate told me to go home and order online, after a month of non delivery and 2 messages saying âyour order could not be deliveredâ with NO explanation whatsoever I went to customer service who told me I ordered from the wrong store and to go talk to that storeâs customer service instead. When I ordered online I manually entered the store number to make sure it would come from the nearest store so that seemed fishy. When I went to the other storeâs customer service they confirmed that I ordered correctly and that the customer service person I talked to in PV should have known better and probably was trying to get rid of me. I returned to the PV location talked to customer service again and the lady that told me incorrect information did not apologize and LIED to her boss right in front of me that she didnât tell me to go to the other store. They then told me my order would arrive in ANOTHER 3 weeks . . . Maybe. So I had to cancel the online order and pick out a literal ton and a half of materials by hand and ask to have that stuff delivered. Guess what, after completing the transaction I asked when I should expect delivery and the cashier says rudely âyou didnât tell me this was a deliveryâ, YES, I DID, it was the first thing I said! Took another 45 minutes to get the transaction cancelled and reordered as a delivery. A project I was doing for a customer that I originally had a month and a half to do had to be done in less than a week. I hate hate hate this store, the fact that this place still has a rating over 4 stars makes me...

The situation was fairly simple. I ordered a gallon of paint online and picked it up. This is a color I have ordered several times and already painted with. Itâs a beautiful color when itâs mixed properly. However, I open the gallon and it looked lighter than I remembered it. Almost white. Foolishly, I think perhaps my eyes are deceiving me and this color would in fact dry to the color I wanted. So I painted one of the bathroom walls with it. Nope. Itâs still white. My gut instinct was to just buy a new gallon and call it a day but home renovation is expensive and after spending 25k+ in the last couple months, mostly at their store, I figured they would understand and just mix me a new gallon without hesitation since it was their bad, right? âŚ.
I walk up to the customer service desk and start explaining the situation to a grey haired woman who immediately responds with an attitude. She even started cackling at me like a freaking witch âBAHAHA this paint looks pretty well used. I donât know if thereâs anything we can do.â Iâm like yeah lady, sorry I thought the color would dry darker/different (as it usually does). The color I wanted wasnât black or neon green after-all. It was a lightish grey/beige. Plus, I had a ton of faith in their paint up to this point as I had already purchased like upwards of 10 gallons in a few different colors. All without issue. I tried to explain this and I was still met with harassment and questioning.
I have never felt like such a nuisance for trying to politely explain a situation. Like seriously? Laughing in a customerâs face? Thatâs so wrong. Anyways, the paint guy basically had to confirm it was definitely the wrong color and even acknowledged why I would have given it a shot because of the way BEHR dries like 8 shades darker. at least I felt validated by one person after dealing with several. Unfortunately though, he has no control over the situation and the customer service ppl are just totally disrespectful, even after following me to the paint counter and hearing what the man there had to say!
FINALLY after what felt like an hour of interrogation, the situation gets resolved (reluctantly). I get my paint and could not RUN out of there any faster. Iâm literally traumatized by this point. I wish I had them swipe my card honestly. It would have felt better than being treated like a freeloader piece of garbage. But principal is principal and I had already paid for a gallon of paint and it was not what I paid for. It was just an excruciating experience.
In the end, Iâm beyond disappointed. Iâm disgusted. I was publicly humiliated and shamed for trying to right a wrong that was ON THEM. I will only buy small and local moving forward. Iâm completely DONE with Home Depot, ESPECIALLY this store. Theyâre the embodiment of corporate greed and an underpaid workforce who simply do not give a flying F* about customer care. Itâs a shame too because we still have kitchen cabinets to replace, countertops, bathroom vanities, toilets, etc. Probably an additional 60k+ worth of business is now down the drain for them. Treat people with dignity and respect. Itâs literally that simple. If you canât do that, you probably shouldnât be...

I received a confirmation text after scheduling and it also sent me a reminder this morning by text my phone began ringing about an hour and a half before I was scheduled to be at my appointment I run a full-time business from my home so I don't answer my phone till 9:00 a.m. and as I was heading into an appointment at 9:00 I had my phone going to voicemail she called multiple times and because I did not answer and sent it to voicemail she just would let it ring and then hang up I find that rude and completely unprofessional and that's who you have representing selling thousands of dollars worth of flooring in kitchen installations she can't brush her hair she's so fat sitting in her seat she doesn't even get up to shake my hand I then asked her for the soonest appointment she tells me the 28th without attitude at that I said is there anything sooner she explains they'll go down the list in order of cancellationsmy daughter came over and told me that Lowe's pays charges nothing for free estimates they're coming out in less than 5 days to come do an in-home measurement I've picked my flooring out with Lowe's I recommend anybody to go down lows which is around the corner down the road in Prescott and stay away from Prescott Valley Home Depot as it's apparent that they don't care what their employees do and they don't really care what their customers want it's a free-for-all in that store. And I go again if you want people to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars remodeling their homes from your Home Depot you may want to get someone who's qualified with better professional skills and knows how to talk to a customer who's planning on spending 10 to 12000 in your store shame on you Home...
