Moon's Rare Books — Local services in Provo

I went a while back because I myself am into collecting items. I’m big on Esoteric/witchcraft themes. I believe that this place came up on my “For You Page” on TikTok because of the themes I’m into. I then did some investigating and found that this place is close to where I live so I planned a day when I could go and check out the place.

Once the day came, I was met with very rude staff and the owner wasn’t even there - which is unfortunate since I believe that the owner would’ve been able to chat about interesting things. I tried asking the staff about grimoires since I recall that the owner made a video about them. I honestly felt like the staff was made uncomfortable with my interest in the subject and were unable to give me anything in regards to what I asked. They mostly gave me information about the Bible collections/the hobbit books and other antiques but nothing in regards to grimoires. I saw that one of the staff was giving a tour to a family and I wanted to listen to what they were saying and the other rude staff said “that’s not a room to go into” to me (but of course the other people were able to learn about the shop).

In all honesty, why promote such content on social media if the majority of the antiques at this location are irrelevant in nature to what is promoted on social media? I am disappointed and was hopping to go back and pay to attend an event where I could perhaps meet the owner but after long consideration, I’ve decided to close this chapter and move on to another place of...

Bookstore disguised as a museum, museum disguised as a bookstore. The moment I walked in I knew I was in my “happy place”. My two favorite things, history and books, combined into one incredible store. The store itself is beautifully decorated too. I was blown away by the variety of books and other items there. A large chunk of it are one of a kind. I didn’t want to leave! Then I discovered that Mr. Moon offers Show and Tells in his private vault, so of course I bought tickets. It’s so worth it. The amount of items that we saw, the stories Mr. Moon told, felt surreal honestly. He was kind enough to let me hold two books that I never would’ve dreamed of seeing with my own eyes, let alone getting to physically hold them. Mr. Moon has a beyond unique collection and I can’t believe he’s kind enough to share it with others. I will be attending as many of these show and tells as I’m able to for sure! Another added bonus is all the proceeds go to help build an orphanage in Peru. Thanks for bringing such an amazing place to Utah! Looking forward to returning...

I can't put into words the experience my visit to this place. I initially saw Mr. Moon on TikTok and loved his sharing of history and stories. Visiting this place was like a dream I still can't believe I had in real life. Mr. Moon was not in but he had 2 ladies that became your guides and they were needed. You can't step one foot in without seeing so many things that have so much background you would never know otherwise. There are multiple Bibles centuries old, versions of the very firsts that you can actually see. Then there are many movie memorabilia that is amazing. Towards the back of the shop he has room set up that each one has probably hours of detail for all the items that are exhibited. The lady that helped me most of the time was so awesome and sharing and answering all my questions that I pestered her with. I learned about the Hexapla in so many other wonderful things that I hadn't even seen from the TikToks. Highly recommend stopping in as many times as possible. I wish it wasn't so far away...
