We had the BEST time at this Skyline Chili! I am a huge fan of what my family calls "chiletti," chili over spaghetti noodles. We would have this all the time when I was growing up. My aunt would serve this dish with a myriad of toppings (what we call "feexins") and the possibilities are endless. I believe she was originally inspired after visiting her first Skyline Chili in Cincinnati, Ohio, where this company was first started. I have been to locations in Cincinnati, Louisville, and now this one in Kentucky. We always try to fit in a stop if we remember there is one nearby on our road trips as we do not have one of these where we currently live in Nashville, TN. This particular location in Richmond was excellent. It 's located right off the interstate just adjacent to Eastern Kentucky University in Richmond Center outdoor mall. The building looked brand spanking new and was clean and well attended. The serving staff was polite, attentive, and so friendly. The kitchen was impeccably clean and the bathrooms were spotless. The walls were adorned with lots of high school and college sports memorabilia because of the nearby schools. I could see a lot of EKU students here on late weekend nights and filling up on some late night eats! We had the best time getting just a simple "4-Way," spaghetti, chili, cheese, onions. Someone near us ordered the 'Coney Bowl" and I wish I would have tried that, too!! If you've never been to a Skyline, this is not a restaurant with fancy cuisine that is particularly culinary, because that is not the spirit of a Skyline. But if you want a fun, down-to-earth, tasty fill-me-up grub with good basic ingredients, this is your stop, and I highly recommend this location in the...
Read moreThis place could really use some adult supervision. Today’s staff was comprised of teens and young adults, none of which seemed to prioritize customer service. When I arrived I was one of maybe 6 customers in the place and most were near finished with their meals. I was greeted and had my order taken in a timely manner, but that was the end of any service I received during my visit. My drink was brought to me about 3/4 full in an already small glass. I happened to be particularly thirsty so it didn’t last long. My waitress brought my food to my table and bolted never asked me if I needed anything. As a matter of fact after she took my order she never said another word to me or anything. I made a few attempts to get her attention to ask for a drink but she never got close to my table again until she brought me the check and she still said nothing to me and reached over my empty drink while I was still eating to put the check in front of me. I took the check and stood at the register for around 5 minutes before anyone came to take my money. It was somewhat busy but busy was not the issue. Lack of customer...
Read moreI'm a huge fan of Skyline and the day they opened here in Richmond I was there twice. Cierra was our server waiting on my wife & I a number of times since, and I frequent this location. Fantastic service (always) with great menu options (even though I tend to have the same thing every time) in a very friendly & appreciative environment. I had a lunch meeting there today with Cierra as our waitress... it was the first time my associate had eaten at this location. We experienced excellent service... very prompt & attentive and always friendly. My associate commented on the food & service and we plan to bring a large crew next week for another meeting. This is a fantastic restaurant and I'm so glad Richmond (finally) has a Skyline! Thank you, Cierra, for consistently making the dining experience...
