My girlfriend and I went in to refund a piece of jewelery she bought because it wasn't the right size. An employee directed us to the counter and that we had to wait for the manager to arrive. No biggy. When the manager came, he immediately was aggrisive and rude. When my girlfriend asked to do a refund (well before the 30 day btw), the manager stated it was not eligible and that she had to exchange it for an item. Because we didnt have an item in mind to exchange at the moment, we had to walk over to the locked jewelry case to find a different one to exchange. Again, no big deal, but this manager continued to give my girlfriend an aggresive tone as if we just yelled at her. Like for goodness sake she kindly pointed at the jewely choice for exchange and the manager rudely stated she didn't know what she was pointing at and to be more specific, and when my girlfriend asked to open the case to make it easier to point out, this manager lashed back on how they couldn't open the case until she made our decision on what piece she wanted. After she told this manager we needed more time to pick, the manager locked the case aggressively and walked away without a word. They had a rude attitude towards her and were being so disrespectful to the point where she left with tears. We went to the Sunrise Mall Spencer's location and it was the complete opposite experience, as they were extremely kind and helpful. Read moreThe cashier treated us very poorly and was incredibly rude and unfriendly, as well as unhelpful. While attempting to check that a lava lamp's fluid was clear and not cloudy, the cashier yelled at us and said we would need to bring it up to the register for them to inspect the product on our behalf. When we proceeded to do just that, they flatly told us, "you can already see a picture of it on the front of the box." We obviously could plainly see that fact for ourselves (which is why we chose that product in the first place!) - we simply wanted to ensure that the product was in good condition before purchasing a $55 lava lamp.
When we went to check out a few minutes later, the same cashier did not utter a word to us the entire time other than prompting us to enter our number for the rewards program. They also placed the lava lamp sideways in the bag (which is not good and can ruin the internal wax and fluid), and didn't so much as tell us to have a nice day. Despite our politeness and repeated attempts at niceties, they remained stalwart in their lack of friendliness. The entire visit was extremely uncomfortable, and my partner decided not to make his own purchase due to their unpleasant attitude.

Read moreHonestly I wouldn't ever write a review about a Spencer's in a mall but I had a situation where I had to call corporate customer service and manage a whole ordeal. They were extremely helpful and super kind! My problem wasn't even that big of a deal but they took the most extreme diligence and timeliness taken care of it. It actually felt pretty refreshing to get legitimate genuine help from people who care. And it wasn't even that big of a deal. It was awesome! And, the second time I went in there to do my whole exchange thing that I had to deal with, they let me take advantage of a super great deal that I missed the first time so I was really grateful that I actually got to get the matching set for everything and I only had to spend a dollar more LOL. I love when mistakes made are transformed into my benefit! LOL The store is like all of the stores I have ever been into, it looks all the same but it's always fun to go in there and see what's new on...
