Downtown Sacramento Ice Rink — Local services in Sacramento

Considering what else is available in the immediate area, if you really want to go ice skating then I guess it's ok here. The Pros: they do at least smooth out the ice one time per skate session which is more than I can say for the Folsom location, however it's not much bigger. the Cons: Super crowded, very limited free parking, the most beatup uncomfortable skates imaginable, they charge every 30min for a newbie learning with a walker compared to the same flat fee for the entire session, and no discount for young aged. Do the math $15entry+$7 skate rental +$5 (x3!) for the walker and you're looking at about $40 +/- for ONE 4year old; did I mention the short skate duration each session only 90min, including the 30min it takes to get through the line and to grab your aweful rental skates, and the only bathroom was 2 extremely disgusting non-maintained porter potties (thankful it was me that had to go and not my daughter!) The only reason it gets a generous 2 stars is because the staff was moderately plesant, at least so was the case during my own limited interactions with them. Had great time. Staff was cool and helpful. I would recommend going early less crowds if it's your first time or still learning. The only real complaint I really had was there's this one part that didn't really froze over after the gazebo pass-through so it was kind of like extra slippery to get on it. Thought I think that's mostly because of the Sun that still hit it so I would be careful when going early or wait until it gets night time so that the ice can freeze over it quickly enough. Renting shoes is $13 renting a locker is $2 and the scooter thingamajig is $5 for 30 minutes. My original 5 star was from few years ago. Leaving another 5 start today 12/10/23. My daughter had her 15th bday party here yesterday ( Saturday).We reserved a snow day party in advance. Very affordable and all the guest had a blast. It’s is crowded but not bad. This is my second time here and will definitely come back! I like the fact that the non skaters got to come in for free and didn’t have to pay. The guest that did skate got a wrist band.
