Very creepy. I am a seeker of wisdom and wanted to discuss some of what I already knew with a person who knew more than I did. The building is in downtown Sac, which is always busy, but the building itself was so quiet I thought it may be closed. The door was locked, and as I peered inside a worried looking man came rushing to the door. He sounded annoyed when he said, "Can I help you?" And I stuttered a response about wanting to learn more. He let me in, I thought a little reluctantly, and inside was another worried looking person who did not greet me at all. I was immediately taken to the book and pamphlet area and told all my questions could be answered here. I browsed for a few moments, and in truth I had already read a couple of their books, so I turned back to the desk and said, "Is it OK if I ask you some questions?" Neither of them looked pleased at that, but the first worried person nodded. I said, "I'm interested in your cosmic structure and what you believe happens after we die. The books I've read of yours don't really talk about it. The concept of "thetans" comes close to reincarnation, but I want to know HOW that works." Their whole energy changed when I asked that, and they dropped the pretense of being friendly. I was told I need to leave immediately. I laughed out of shock and disbelief, and that made the worried people angry. Before I could respond the silent worried person said, "Leave now or we will call the police." I shook my head and said thank you for their time, and left. Outside I pulled out my phone to tell my partner about this weird experience, and the second worried person came out the front door and said, "This sidewalk is our property too, and you need to leave." I wish I had done something clever like stand in front their neighbors doorway, but I just shook my head and walked away. I've been to lots of churches and temples and ashrams and this was by far the strangest, most unfriendly place of "wisdom" I've...
Read moreMy partner (now wife) brought me here when it opened. This place is awesome! The church offers non-religious courses that have helped me with the different types of problems that I have run into: the ability to study 📖 🤓, relationships, raising children 🚸 , communication, self-confidence, knowing who I can trust 🤝, how to be more successful at work, and how to handle finances.
Each course gave me new perspectives and tools I use every day. Best part, they were only $50.
The building and course rooms are beautiful and I can tell the people who work are there really care about my wellbeing.
My friends and family ask me often what changed and I tell them it was THIS Church. 😊
I’m so thankful to my wife for bringing me here, it...
