In my opinion, this parish is no longer the non-judgmental and open and ALL LOVING community, including leadership, that it used to be years ago.
I do not recommend attending this parish anymore if you feel that you are on the margins of society. A gate in front of the church has even been put up to prevent homeless people from sitting on the steps, and the pastor allegedly had this done withe zero input from anyone.
Please approach this parish with caution, as it might cause more spiritual harm than good.
Some of the parishioners are still very wonderful and loving individuals. However, many of those people have left the parish and gone elsewhere.
This parish also is technically no longer a "Franciscan" parish. It is Diocesan now since it has no more Franciscan priests.
The physical building, artwork and statues are still breathtakingly beautiful however.
