I found some shoes here I managed to try on at Orleans Shoe Company. I found them at BMs: they were less expensive and the colors were more exciting for my wardrobe. being severely disabled and impoverished, I can only afford to have two pairs of shoes right now; my podiatrist insisted I replace all my old shoes with some orthopaedic sneakers and sandals. I was delighted to find the pair I wanted.
unfortunately, either because of robot error or my traumatic brain injury, the wrong size arrived. it doesn't matter whose fault this is, but I needed those shoes for an event I was attending and waited on tenterhooks for them to arrive. when the wrong size came, because I never get to buy new things and there was only one pair left in my size, I left an upset voicemail. I wasn't angry or mean, just disappointed, and immediately purchased the correct size (again) from BM. someone called me back the next day they were open, blamed me for the error, said "we try not to make mistakes", hung up on me and then gaslit me for hanging up on them! I have all of this audio recorded because I live in Louisiana where it is legal to record without notice. they did send me the correct size, refunded me for the other pair and paid shipping, but not without an argument. I'm a service person and I know what professional service looks and feels like, and there was a time when I wasn't disabled or impoverished and was not handled badly as a customer. what professionalism doesn't look or feel like is someone passive-aggressively mailing me suede shoes with several marks on them, or pretending to forget to spray them with Protex, as is their policy. so now I have to get these shoes professionally cleaned and buy Protex and still cannot wear the shoes I purchased. if Birkenstock Midtown fixes this problem by giving me a credit to my bank account to pay for the cleaning and purchase Protex I will remove this review. otherwise, my disgust with this lack of professionalism stands and I will also link to the audio...
Read moreTerrible customer service with online orders, they include receipts with obvious gifts and then blame you for not explicitly telling them not to include one(they never stated they included a receipt in their packages). Also, they don't check to make sure you're getting the right product. A necklace described as having a bronze chain and the pictures show the same, but they don't make sure it's actually bronze before shipping. They don't take any responsibility and blamed the manufacturer of the chain for the mistake even though they still never made sure they had the correct chain. Then when you reach out to them, they will completely ignore you. It's been a month since i first reached out to them, they gave me multiple options like a return, exchange, or to get refund of my shipping cost, BUT THEY NEVER RESPOND WHEN YOU CHOOSE AN OPTION. I've reached out through several emails and through multiple different platforms but they never responded. They ruined gift giving by including a receipt when it was sent to my partner at boarding school, they didn't let me return it to change the chain or even refund shipping. Read moreI had a wonderful experience & customer despite the COVID-19. These were my 1st pair of Berkinstock and initially I purchased one online from another store, but it ended up being too small, so I was excited to see that there is a Berkinstock store in Sacramento.
Before going to the store I card and talked to Tony. I told her my issues with the original Berkinstocks I ordered. She explained the different widths, footbeds and suggested styles I may like taking into consideration my preferences. She also made sure the the styles I was interested in we're in stock before I drive down to the store.
We did curbside fitting. Outside the door they had a carpent and chair ready for me. We both wore masks and she handed me the shoes while she stayed inside the doors.
After trying in a few pairs (different sizes and colors) I ended up with TWO new pairs of Berkinstocks: dark brown (with regular fit and regular foot bed) & COPPER (with regular fit and soft foot bed). I've never been a fan of Berkinstock's, but they have such great reputation I decided to take the plunge!!
