While visiting family out of state my S/O traded in his S10 for $1000 off of a Galaxy Note 20 Ultra. They claimed it would be applied over 3 months. 8 months later we realized it had never been applied. When we called the store they claimed the whole store was fired for illegally reselling phones & the phone was never sent to AT&T - the S10 was sold to a private party in Ohio.
We have been dealing with having the franchise store fix the situation since October 2021. They applied the first $400 / $1000 on October 18th after dozens of calls with multiple levels of people. The remaining $600 still has not been applied 4 months after it was promised to be.
It has been a nightmare of not receiving calls back, not being able to get ahold of anyone, and not being able to get a timeline or any answer.
A horrible experience that won't end.
Edit: We had to get the Attorney Generals office involved to solve our issues with AT&T. They suddenly reached out and fixed it within a...
Read moreI bought online an unlocked Xperia 1 V (Sony) months before, and all of a sudden it stopped making and taking calls, but data continued unabated. The personnel at the store were somewhat helpful inasmuch as they told me ATT would not work on the phone. I later found out that ATT and Verizon have "whitelists" of phones they will serve, and they do not include many leading phones internationally. I finally found that Mint Mobile would work for my phone. Apple and Samsung have locked up a large part of the market in the U. S. in cahoots with most of the carriers in the U. S. In the Far East and Europe people buy the phones they want (many of which are very very good) and then go shopping for networks. The U. S. model of getting phones with a long-term network commitment is probably a useful offer to the mass market, but there ARE other ways and phones that emphasize more choices for users. I like my phone for its keen orientation to...
Read moreI'm a brand new customer, having come over from t-mobile/Sprint for thirty years.
I'm also a u s army veteran, and when I signed up for at&t, they promised a twenty-five percent veterans discount with identification that establishes I was a veteran. Since then, I have submitted my Arizona Driver's license that certifies my veterans status, over 5 different times and it has been rejected by the AT&T system each time because it says my identification doesn't have my full name!
There are a number of other discounts that seemed to have been removed off the account because I requested a number change, something I wasn't told when I signed up. While I have encountered some earnest, helpful people along the way, I continually get the runaround and get transferred or hung up on.
I truly regret putting my confidence and...
