Roost & Company — Local services in Salem

This used to be one of my "go to" places for those cheeky gifts or an irrevrant card. I guess covid has sadly necessitated downsizing but what's left isn't much fun. They used to carry cool pieces of jewelry but i guess they got cut as well. All of that is understandable but i also remember friendly faces..perhaps covid has cut that out too. I, like everyone i suppose, want our normal back. I'll wait for normal to revisit Roost & Co.

I'm so pleased to be able to report that i recently stopped in to pick up one of those irreverent cards and it seems like the friendly staff is back. It was nice! I suppose that the last couple years took a toll on everyone and i was a bit hasty in my review. Everyone has a bad day and i probably just hit one of those days. Roost is one of my go-to stores for cards and small, fun presents to bring a smile to the recipient. Funky and fun.

The shop itself us in the middle of Salem. There are steps up inside so not wheelchair suitable. Parking will be at the many metered spots and lots around Salem, availability usually good though not during September and October, which are the most magical time of the year for Salem.

Stopped in by chance as we were walking by, so glad I did! The store is filled with lots of cute, quirky items….you’re bound to find at least one thing that you will just have to buy! I got the cutest little cat tea steeper and a couple of buttons that are both made from local artists. On top of that, the owners threw in a sparkler since it was my birthday which was so sweet!
