Took my cat there to be neutered- he had to stay overnight. I was told to come pick him up the next morning. I arrived to get him and the lady at the front desk was unreasonably rude to not only myself but the lady behind me. (She was an older women, the other lady was absolutely amazing)! She acted like it was a burden to even be there. She even told me false info & gave me a date to be back even though there was NO reason for me to come back. She claimed my cat had sutures and when I asked why (Iâve had male cats neutered previously and never needed to get sutures removed) she seemed irritated by my question. When I asked if the removal would cost me, she responded with âno, but you adult vaccines willâ in a very condescending tone. I didnât ask about the vaccine cost because he had actually gotten his vaccines before the neural and I was aware heâd need his boosters. There were a few other rude remarks and a tone she took with myself and others while I waited but not any âimportantâ enough to note.
She was also rude to the lady behind me- when the lady asked a question about her pet she was very quick to shut her down and tell her to wait and ask the doctor. Almost to a point she didnât even get her sentence out.
When I did get my kitty I asked the doctor who did the neuter about his sutures, he explained to me that they did not suture him and I did not need to come back. He also explained to me that his vaccines had already been given (contrary to what front desk lady told me). It was all on the paperwork she handed me- all she had to do was read it! The doctor himself was VERY kind, very professional and answered all my questions! He was one of the best hands down.
When I arrived home I called my grandmother to tell her about the whole ordeal, she then told me she stopped coming to this clinic very recently because very time she came the same front desk lady always had an attitude or tone and treated her like she was a child. She also told me this front desk lady talked her into getting a vaccine for her dog that he actually had already gotten and he ended up with a double dose.
GREAT staff except this lady. They were very swift and took great care of my little buddy! I appreciate the team up there who does work as hard as they do, but costumer service and CORRECT information is very incredibly important to your...
Read moreWe've been taking our animals here for a few years now (My father and mother for several years), and unless we see Steinman senior, or one of the Steinman juniors, there always seems to be some kind of issue. Whether I'm dealing with an attitude or brashness, a charge for something that we weren't made aware of or didn't ask for, missing or miss information, incorrect treatment, etc., it's almost always something. This most recent visit was the last straw. Our cat needed a tooth extraction but we never asked for her teeth to be cleaned. The 1st 2 times I talked to them about her needing the extraction and to be shaved was over the phone, both calls were recorded, and there was no mention of her teeth getting cleaned. The 3rd time I talk to them about what we needed, we were at the facility and my niece was with me. Again there was no mention of her teeth getting cleaned. The bill was already going to be $500. They decided to clean her teeth anyway without asking if it was OK or if we could afford it and the charge was almost $200, bringing the bill up to $700. Also, they shaved her while she was still sedated and she looks like they tried to shave her while she was awake. Then they told me that an inside cat that does NOT go outside had fleas. And no vet that has ever seen her, which is annually or more, has ever told us that she has had fleas, including them. Our dogs go outside to potty, but they are treated on a schedule. No vet has ever told us that our dogs have had fleas either. We have vinyl floors, except for in the bedrooms, and the bedroom doors are always shut so the dogs don't go in. The "flea dirt" that they tried to show me was white. Flea dirt is not white, it's dark. We've never seen a flea on any of our animals. But they told me they saw "one" flea. Once I was home and could more closely inspect what they said was "flea dirt", they weren't flea eggs either. We also got charged for flea treatment we didn't need and I put chemicals on our cat for nothing. I cannot speak for my dad as to whether he will continue taking our cat there or not. But my niece and I definitely will no longer be taking our dogs. Unless you can see one of the Steinmans, I would not recommend...
Read moreOur vet was closed this weekend so we had to use another vet for euthanasia/cremation. Normally, all of our dogs have come back in a pretty box with a brass tag with their name, DOB and DOD. I just went to pick up my boy and he is in a brass can with a rubber band around it because the lid comes off. He was stuck in behind the computer while they worked. They didnât want ashes all over my car! I asked why he wasnât in a box, the lady at the counter said we have a few here.....then another lady said I could get one on amazon cheaper that I could put a picture of him in. Are you kidding me right now? How disrespectful! We called the cremation company that took care of Lili and Cutie (past dogs) He is making us a box for Scooby and dropping it off at our vet, free of charge. He was mortified that a cremation company and/or a vet hospital would treat the families this way. Absolutely disgusting!! I am just heartbroken.
Update: I called back to talk to a manager at Animal Care Center of Salisbury I spoke with Todd (manager). He put ALL blame on us. He said that the box was an upgrade and if we didnât check the box, we wouldnât get the box. I said that none of this was explained to us, the only upgrade option we were offered was a paw print. If we missed it on the paperwork itâs because we were distraught. Explain to me, apologize for not making it clear and move on. Instead he blamed us, insinuated that we didnât stay with Scooby and that we werenât thorough with paperwork. Of course we werenât! We were only offered a paw print. Every other dog we have had, everything was gone over with us and the box is always standard. I had no idea my baby would be pushed behind a computer, in a metal can with a rubber band around him. I told him this was on social media and that I would warn others. I told them that they were the most uncaring people we have ever encountered and proceeded to hang up. I really wish I could add pictures of how my baby boy came home to me.
This is my old Google account. My married name is Ellen Courtenay Bourret. I didnât want Todd to say that we had never been there or something. My husband is...
