My boyfriend and I went to self checkout, and basically the manager stood almost on top of us watching, as we checked out my boyfriend had already purchased what he was getting. And then I was getting the rest of our groceries, very disappointing experience to say the least, and this is coming from somebody who's lived in Salisbury, the majority of their life and have good memories of food lion. This was the general manager that did this. I actually left the store and went back into the store. Because I was so upset about what had happened. I definitely felt like we were profiled. My boyfriend is black and i'm white, and I really believe we were profiled, because we were an interracial couple. I do not steal. I don't need to steal, and here's another thing. These self check outs, if you're gonna have these things and you're going to have people stalking the customer too, take them out of the stores again take them out of the stores. Food Lion is headquarters in Salisbury, North Carolina. But that does not mean that I have to shop at food lion there's a harris teeter, and there's an aldi's, and there's Lowe's foods not far from salisbury. This was at the faith road store, a store that I usually frequent majority of the time and let me just say this. There are plenty of people that work in that store that know who I am because I've been going to that store for quite some time but I did not like the way we were treated. The general manager said that he didn't do anything wrong. Well, I just let him know that he made me and my boyfriend feel very uncomfortable.There was nobody else at the self.Checkout, but for some reason, he felt like he needed to literally almost stand directly on top of us. Read moreClean and well organized. Like varieties of different products. Would like to see improvement in meat department and produce. Prices are on the higher side based on local comparions. It's a bummer to have to drive and shop at multiple stores because of these price differences just to be able to try to meet one's buget. My heart goes out to the elderly and those with limitations having to do this. Makes for hardship. I do wish stores would put their prices closer inline to each other. I understand wanting to get the most money you can for your product. However, when prices are so out of line as to charge $0.20 to $0.50 more for the same product at a different store, well this is a true head scratcher and aggrevation to say the least. I must add Food Lion is not the only store that does this. Have to give Food Lion credit on the good sales they often run. Read moreHad an awful experience at this food Lion last night. I was at the self check out and I had two items. I scanned one item, and when I looked up I realized there was an item on there that I did not scan and I’m assuming was from a previous customer. I immediately looked at the guy watching over self check out to ask for his help to remove that item, but before I could even get a word out he starts SCREAMING at me “SCAN THE SECOND ONE.” I looked at him confused and he proceeded to say it again, twice. I had full intention of scanning the second item, and at first I thought he meant scanning it would make the incorrect item go away until I realized no, he was accusing me of stealing. There was a line full of people right next by staring and it was HUMILIATING. I get doing your job to make sure nobody is skipping items to scan, but I was literally just trying to get his help to remove an item that WASN’T mine before I proceeded.
