THaT* Furniture Store — Local services in Salisbury

After visiting this location for a piece of furniture that myself and my uncle were looking for for an Airbnb I was initially met by a friendly sales woman named Ashley. I had interest in a sectional that was made of Italian leather that was listed for $5400. After initially being told that that was the only one and they would have to order one I said I would come back, but then she offered to sell the one to me off of the floor. At a non-discounted cost at that (ok cool). I then stated that I would come back as I was looking at an almost identical piece at another location and if they didn’t have it in stock, I would not purchase a floor model At $5400 when I can get an almost identical piece for $5200 at another local store that is brand new. She then offered to sell me the piece of furniture Or check her warehouse to make sure she really didn’t have another and give me free delivery which was an $80 Discount. I said OK… Once she verified that she did Indeed have one in the warehouse and that it was the same color I told her great we would purchase. I needed to talk it over with my partner to let him know that I had secured a piece of furniture as he was at another store. I advise I would give her a call back shortly and we would arrange the Purchase.

The sale rep called me multiple times which is ok but was very pushy and miraculously within an hour of me leaving an empty store had 3 different customers looking at the same sectional. I told her ok understood and myself or my uncle would contact her back To arrange the Purchase shortly. She didn’t call back a final time Being very pushy and said that she didn’t want to sell it from under me and ask for a deposit (Odd) And not the norm for furniture store. I never asked her to hold this piece of furniture, but I said that I would purchase it and under That if someone purchased it before I got back That it was OK. I then advised her that the deposit was fine as we wanted it and would pay her half in the morning and bring her cash. This employee seemed taken aback by me wanting to pay the deposit in cash and said "ummmmm cash???" I jokingly said yes some people still use cash is that ok? The rep then asked do I think I could do a card NOW over the phone. I told her never mind that her response to me paying cash was very unprofessional and her behavior was unprofessional and pushy. This is why I never should’ve strayed from my original furniture store that I use. No sales rep in 10 years has ever been this way at Outten Bros. If I could leave zero stars i would. I hope this gets addressed or maybe they just don’t like making money. I’d say $5400 for a sectional is $5400 regardless if it’s cash, credit or...

My husband and I having been coming to this store for approximately 6 years, looking for a leather couch that he and I can both agree on. They always have new merchandise coming in, so we knew that one day it would be there!! Well, a couple of weeks ago, we finally found it and couldn’t be more happy with it. This family owned store is such a gem!!! They are non-pressure folks who let you meander through their store in peace without asking you a million times if they can help you find something. Most times when we would come in, or on our way out, we would stop to say hello. They are so friendly and pleasant to chat with. Our new couch was delivered yesterday and the fellas (father and son) were friendly, professional, set our couch up perfectly. Thank you to Diane and her family for making it a pleasant experience. We walked into the store just to check things out and walked out having purchased a new living room and dining set. The staff is very welcoming, kind, helpful and accommodating. Ragen is a design consultant and spent several hours helping me choose new pieces of furniture based on the complicated layout of my home. Since I have very little ability to visualize things, I really appreciated her expertise. She moved piece after piece of furniture so we could see how each item looked with the main pieces we selected. If it didn’t work, we tried another.
