I hate to leave only one star to such a great bank but it's a review for this particular establishment. My father reffered me and I was accepted quickly which I was grateful for never having a bank account at the age of 40. A few months later my now husband was added. We both used direct deposit and wanted to purchase a car so we applied for a loan that was denied because even though Richard obtained full employment with a company for five years it was still a staphing agency. Disappointing but understandable. Before leaving the bank a man came from another office and said Richard was not allowed on account anymore because his name on ID didn't match. It was a new ID and not noticed that his mother's maiden name was in the place of his middle name most likely because that the surname he used before turning 18 years old. We went directly to the Drivers licence division where they fixed their mistake for free, zipped back to bank and he was added back to our account. A week later few weeks later while we were back at this location making a deposit the same man as before came out telling us that he was again taking him off the account until we got a letter from Social Security office stating his name was indeed correct. Frustrated Richard said nevermind he could tell they didn't want his service. He was use to being treated in certain areas not deserving being a Mexican construction worker. I had no idea these types of things happened and now I've seen this happen a few places that seemed normal and friendly when I was alone. I feel awful for not believing and having him brought into such a situation. We are now today changing our branch we bank at but keeping University and other employees like always have been kind. Oh ya. Even today that same man told an online employee that his social security number doesn't match so that's why he got kicked off three times. Crazy he still keeps trying. And we never reacted to this man so I don't get how determined he is to not serve us. He opened my account and my last name is not any of my ID's because I haven't changed it yet after marriage but always signed and used my maiden name from day one. Why don't they give...
Read moreUpdate - customer service reached out and thankfully was able to help us! I am so glad that they were able to get in touch with us and help out. Thank you!
My elderly father has been banking here for over 20 years and went in to check his account balance as he does... and after speaking with the teller, he mistakenly purchased a CD "Share Certificate" after they offered him "options." After I heard what happened when he got home, the next day, we tried to cancel the account since it was a mistake and move it back to his checking account.
U First Share Certificate policy states the credit union "may incur a penality should you choose to withdraw your money before the completion of the term" which makes it sound like they could waive the penalty for early withdrawal at the credit union's discretion.
I explained the situation to the over the phone customer support, who said it would "be up to the VP but it is possible" to withdraw the money and waive the fee... and the matter was escalated all the way to this supposed VP, but ultimately, the VP chose not to waive the penalty. “The fee is not that much.” To them maybe! To my elderly father it certainly is.
I cannot in good faith recommend anyone choose to open an account at this credit union; they will not act in your interest even with the power to do so, even for a customer who has been loyal to them...
Read moreFirst of all, what kind of Bank won't change an excited toddlers change into bills? I guess I could've lied and said it was mine. Then you surely would've deposited it... I don't believe you when you say you can't count the change. What kind of Bank doesn't have a change counter?! Do no businesses use your services?! But maybe I do believe you don't have the capacity to help a little guy given the obvious incompetence of the teller I was working with. The card I got never worked in the first place. Only the chip so I found myself charging my credit card constantly at places that didn't have a chip reader. When I went to fix the problem, it took a solid 30 minutes because the teller didn't know what he was doing and was too shy to ask for help. Any other bank, I can go in and have my card replaced in less than 5 minutes. So, not only was I dealing with a bored, disappointed toddler but your incompetence as well. After leaving with my new "fixed" card, that I now have found ALSO doesn't work!!! I'm furious! Then to top it all off, we get 6 more cards in the mail? What in the actual... You know. Okay, rant over. I'll take my money and go to a credit Union that knows the...
