Highest recommendation for McKay, Burton & Thurman, P.C. particularly Mark C Rose. We were facing a very difficult personal / financial situation in our life after a catastrophic accident left us with over $1M in medical bills. We tried to handle this ourselves for years but slowly fell behind on everything until we got to a point that we just couldn't continue and needed professional help. Mark was referred to us by another attorney in SLC as one of the best to handle our situation. Prior to meeting with Mark, we were uncertain of our future, and uncertain of the short term steps that needed to be taken as well as the larger plan. Before Mark was ever retained by us, he did an incredible amount of background work on our case. He wanted to be sure that all options and bases were covered and he came up with a plan based on our unique situation that would be the best way forward based on his experience and expertise. He made the comment that once a client signs on with him they become like family, and that's how we felt throughout the process. Mark was clear, concise, explained the process to us, and fielded a host of questions that were likely basic to him, but not to us. He was accessible literally any time we needed him, including evenings. Once we executed on his plan, there were no issues. We prepared and had a plan of attack for each potential scenario, but in the end "Plan A" worked just like Mark had outlined. I'm sure you can find "cheaper" lawyers out there, but when facing a life situation, I can promise you do not want "cheap". Mark Rose is an excellent attorney and delivered on exactly what he said he would do. We are extremely indebted and grateful that he came so highly recommended to us. Looking back, our only regret is that we did not find...
Read moreDon't bother - I reached out to discuss an HOA issue and couldn't get a response; I called directly and was told they're "very busy" but they might be able to squeeze me in (thanks, I guess?). They wanted to make sure I could afford $300 per hour to talk to the only attorney at the firm who deals with these matters (apparently); pretty insulting how many times they asked "are you sure you can afford $300 an hour to discuss this? Are you sure?" Yes, I'm able to afford an attorney and am aware that professional services cost money. I was also told to not bother if I don't have the CC&Rs from the HOA, even though I repeatedly told the representative that I'm trying to get those documents and that's why I need an attorney. Very unprofessional, not...
Read moreIf you are ever in an unfortunate event where an attorney is needed, we could not recommend Brian Porter more highly. Brian Porter met and exceeded our expectations. He guided us through a stressful event with the utmost professionalism. In a world where the specific nomenclature, rules and etiquette were unfamiliar to us, Brian explained everything very well and gave us comfort when navigating these uncharted waters. He was patient and knowledgeable, and spent the time to speak to us about all of our options. Most importantly, he cared for us and for our outcome and then proved that to us through his actions while representing us. Please take the time to give him a call for a consultation to see for yourself. He...
