I go to Salt Lake Waxing Co. every six weeks!

But it didn't start out like that... Ten years ago, like many adults with body image issues, I was not only scared waxing would be excruciatingly painful, but I couldn't fathom being naked and spreading my legs open like a frog in a well-lit room, let alone have a stranger looking at me in that vulnerable state. However, the desire to be hair-free compelled me to what you're doing now: reading reviews and trying to glimpse what to expect.

Every six weeks, I see Juls for what we call the "All The Things" treatment.

"All the things" starts with my brazilian wax. We're so busy catching up that I hardly notice what's happening down there. Before you know it, I'll roll over on my side into a fetal pose and with a few quick strokes, she's done, and I am gloriously hair-free from front to back! Next are my lower legs (full legs and butt cheeks are a must in the summer), my armpits, and my mustache! Next, her esthetician expertise really shines when she does my brows. It's not just a "brow wax" like you'll get at your nail salon. She's paying attention to my face shape, hairstyle, and hair color. Those details matter, especially if you're like me and opt to have your brows tinted. I always leave with perfectly precisely shaped eyebrows that fit my face and style. While the brow tint works its magic, it's nose time. Yes, I said nose. While plucking a single hair from within your nose is outrageously painful, surprisingly, warm wax on a stick placed carefully inside and swiftly removed isn't terrible at all. The nose hairs are gone without bringing tears to my eyes! No more troll nose.

My advice to you: Book an appointment. Meet Juls. Ask questions. You don't have to start with "All The Things." Take as much time as you need to feel comfortable. Keep making appointments. Try something new.

Around Halloween, she usually has a cute sign that reads: "You can't scare me; I've seen it all!"

I believe she has. You'll get no shame, shock, or judgment about your body or skin—just a skilled professional who cares deeply about helping you look and feel your best. For me, that's very freeing! Juls has taught me about my skin and helped me become comfortable with it.

It took me a fair amount of trail and error to find a good wax and brow tint esthetician in SLC, and I am so thankful I found Juls!

The entire space is very, very clean (an absolutely must when to comes to any type of salon!), nicely decorated, and generally just comfortable and relaxing to be in. There is a nice waiting area, with coffee, tea, and water. The bathroom is clean and well stocked with wipes, feminine products, etc.

At the beginning of each appointment, Juls provides everything you need to clean up or prepare for your wax. Her Brazilian’s somehow take less time than usual while also being higher quality. The wax she uses is high quality, not irritating to sensitive skin, and gentle. Any concerns or issues you might have, she is always happy to discuss and work with. She is overall incredibly friendly, talented, and efficient. If you’re in the mood to chat during your appointment, she’s a funny and interesting conversationalist, but if you’re shy or want to listen to your headphones or just not in the mood to talk, she’s equally accommodating without having it be the slightest bit awkward. That may seem like an irrelevant thing to mention in a review, but it’s something I really appreciate in an esthetician, and might be important to anyone who is new to waxing or getting one for the first time. Afterwards, everything you need to clean up and soothe your skin is provided, and Juls gives you an exfoliating glove to use at home to help prevent any skin or hair issues.

Juls also does an excellent job with eyebrow waxing and tints. She follows exactly what you ask for during the wax, and checks in during and after the process to ensure it’s exactly what you want. The eyebrow tints are particularly great, because achieve the exact shade you’re looking for, without that unfortunate 1-2 day period of having your brows be super dark and waiting for the shade to fade to the right color, which is a really common experience at most brow tinting places.

Prices are not over-inflated or extravagant (I’ve paid a lot more for much worse waxes in different cities!) and very reasonable for the quality of service. Don’t...

I was really nervous about booking my first waxing appointment because I am a bit self conscious about the weight I’ve gained. I wanted to make sure I felt comfortable with the person who will be seeing ALL of me. 🤣 I spent a lot of time researching techniques and studios. After reading so many glowing reviews, I decided to book with Juls, and I’m so glad I did. From the moment I walked in, she made me feel completely comfortable. She’s not only highly skilled and knowledgeable, but also incredibly kind, warm, and genuinely funny. She took all the fear out of getting my first Brazilian wax, and I knew right away I was in good hands. Now I’m a regular, and I’ll never go back to shaving.
