Rawbean Coffee — Restaurant in Salt Lake City

I work across the street from these folks and have been in maybe four times. I went in the last time on June 16th, 2025 which was the last purchase made on my new credit card. Low and behold I check my credit card statement today and there are 5 new transactions all made from SQ TIP SEE, mind you I don’t use the credit card often and Rawbean was the only place I had went to that used Square, the POS (point of sale) system, and I see 5 new transactions totaling $84 in unauthorized tip amounts. I filed several chargebacks for the unauthorized tip amounts. I am not certain what yall got going on but I’ll be damned if I ever step foot in here again to have money stolen off my credit card. I suggest yall look at them cameras in there to verify that I did not in fact add any tips to my $8 drink lol. I've always enjoyed lounging on the sofas on the upper level, and the quiet is lovely for working or reading. However, it is discouraging that large groups routinely reserve this level and tell you to leave. If they're going to do this, the staff should at least post a sign that the space is reserved from x to x, so you don't settle in and get too comfortable.

There's only one table upstairs, with an additional pair of chairs facing each other, as if somebody pilfered the second table. The upper level needs its second table!

The bathroom handle lifts UP after you enter the code! Do not push down!! If you get it wrong, a robotic woman will scold you for failing to unlock the door.

Every time I come here, the baristas are so kind, helpful, and easy to talk to. The drinks are great and just phenomenal service overall. It’s so nice they have a drive thru. I work at a different coffee shop (shhh!) and still come here for the matcha haha!

(Also, was looking at the other reviews customers left and saw the one about the supposed bundle of random tip charges. I presume it was some technical error that would’ve been easy to get sorted with her bank instead of accusing the girls of theft. Also, if you can’t afford to tip then you can’t afford to get a coffee unfortunately which is the fault of the system not the workers. However, sounds like she is the one that “got what was coming,” to her. Maybe don’t disrespect service workers’ wages just because you want a coffee miss...
