New UPDATE AFTER LIVING FOR 6āmonths
I really love this place because of the creek but unfortunately even with all the security measures we have to do. My bicycle was stolen twice! One, last april and just recently last week :( and its so saddening that whenever i followed up on them they seem not to consider it as an urgent issue. In my previous comment since i moved in, i reported about my defective sliding glass window which is another safety issue for a fact that the bicycle was locked up in my private balcony and i live in 2nd floor...and how in the world the theft climbed to my balcony. I am Not after compensation or such. I just need a peace of mind and reassurance from management that they're doing something for the security at least and not to have a āblaming toneā to the tenant that āyeah coz u kept ur bike outside ur roomā i mean obviously i have fault as well to put the bike locked up in my private balcony.. but the fact that theft will go further that way just to steal a bike.. then what about security of the apartment then? Or why it took months till now my sliding glass window needs to be fixed. Ill just wait for the theft to climb again and access my sliding door then ?
Post 3 months ago Coming from abroad and first time living in USA, this apartment was all I was hoping for. Choosing where to live in downtown was a difficult task considering the budget and expenses. Reasonably, downtown living will always be a bit expensive compared to living in suburbs, but soap factory was the cheapest I could find and its a real diamond in the rough. Im right in the mid of downtown but it feels peaceful and slow paced where my unit is located. I am in 600 side of the block and my balcony has all the beautiful views of San Pedro creek. Imagine waking up in that view. Everything is walkable or a bicycle away from here. Just perfect! Across me - church of San Francesco, Fox Tech high-school, and just 6 mins bike to my work and of course river walk entrance via augusta st. Even greyhound bus were all in walking distance! They host parties every month for all tenants which is something good for community The leasing office staff were all welcoming and courteous - jonathan, teresa and jon I gave 4 stars coz it took weeks for them to repair my door and my windows are still pending. Otherwise, they did address the issues. Pest control wise - 5 stars as well Has valet trash service - will give 4 stars coz sometimes they donāt pick up the folded boxes I really am comfy living here. I highly recommend this apartment for a suburb feel in the heart of downtown
Just few cons - occasional sirens and construction will disturbs you - its basically expected coz this place is near the hospital area and lot of constructions going on around downtown recently. But i donāt mind that- i really...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWhen I moved in there was no trash can for the valet trash. Eventually they brought me one when asked, but some squirrels chewed a giant hole on it. For whatever reason the valet trash wonāt even pickup your trash on the sceduled time half the time. Oh and how many maintenance request have I put to fix my mailbox? Probably 4 by now and it has yet to be fixed. I even had my key replaced encase I just had the wrong key. But no, they keep completing my maintenance request on my mailbox without actually doing anything, so I havenāt had access to my mailbox in 11 months. I donāt like that they reduced the amount of areas with dog potty bags. My dog and I go on walks out frequently and it was nice to have bags there at multiple places til some were removed. The gym is no gym at all. All I need is a treadmill and air conditioner. For whatever reason, mid summer, you will be sweating your butt off walking on a treadmill inside. Also talk to the neighbors hopefully before you move in. You could have the same floor plan and being paying nearly 400 in difference. I thought I was paying a lot but not my neighbors. Now I havenāt had it happen to my car, but many cars get there windows broken in here. Iām one for going on runs every night, and I can deal with it, but there is a massive homeless population down here so I wouldnāt suggest having kids here. Multiple times Iāve seen police cars chasing down men and women streakers. Every other night there is someone screaming their ears off and shouting gibberish. Oh and yes pool hours are posted, but I pay to be here and have the amenities. There was this one night I was at the pool a lil past the pool closing time. 4 officers pulled up, took down my information, and told me to leave. I donāt understand why it would have been such a big deal when Iām such a quiet and non crazy person. Can you tell me why the bathtub is weirdly stained brown or off white in places? Iāve tried everything to get it out but itās stained. Tell me why itās so expensive to wash and dry clothes?? They jip you with this false amenity. After a couple months you could buy your own washer a dryer with the cost. I straight up stopped using it because it would wash or dry my clothes most of the time. Only two time did it actually wash but every dryer Iāve used Iāve had to report for not drying at all. I had a friend park here for 10 minutes literally and his car got towed. You can only have one extra guest car at a time, and after you have to pay. Pay for the parking thatās not even covered and that thereās plenty of excess parking! Iām hoping the next apartment I move into is much cleaner...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI moved in 15 days ago as of today. The day I moved in, I turned in a service request for my broken window and my extraordinarily loud A/C unit, and a request for pest control due to the large number of roaches coming out of my electrical outlets and various other places. The following day, I received a move in condition form, where I then checked the rest of my apartment for other issues. I wrote down things like, āA/C unit loud, broken glass in window (mind you, I live on the first floor), gap between A/C unit and wall (room for potential pests to enter my house), gap in front door (I can see outside from two spaces in my front door), one of my windows doesnāt even open, some of my outlets donāt even work, so on and so forth. Pest control came out a few days later than what they initially said, which I understand, it happens. Maintenance hadnāt come yet. After multiple phone calls, answered by John and Cynthia, and being told that maintenance responds to emergency calls first and that they canāt coordinate with my schedule whatsoever, two weeks pass and no one has come to my apartment to even look at anything. I called this last Friday, John, and again he told me that maintenance responds to emergency calls first. My response was that regardless if my issues are emergent are not (which I would say that since there is a safety concern, that seems emergent to me) it shouldnāt take 2 weeks to come to my apartment. John then said he would speak to the maintenance supervisor and maintenance would be at my apartment on Monday to resolve my issues. Monday passes, and no one shows up. Today I am leaving to take my dog to the park so I lock my front door to leave but realize I left something inside so I go to unlock my door and find my door will no longer open. The door knob is suddenly broken. I call the office and Cynthia sends maintenance to my house immediately. I speak to the man who comes to fix my door about if this issue is going to be added to the list of issues I already have and his response is āwhat list?ā. To me, this sounds as if maintenance was never informed of my problems. I submitted both request forms and my move in condition forms and somehow there was no communication about me needing service in my apartment despite my numerous attempts at contacting the office. I am not one to write reviews or do things out of spite but this has gotten to be completely ridiculous. At this point I would rather fix things myself, but itās not like they would reimburse me for any of the cost of their...
