Bella Paris Nails — Local services in San Diego

It sucks to write a negative review about Bella Paris because I typically get excellent manicures from all the women here. However I went to have gels removed, and had a scarring experience. A man did my gel removal and filed down SO far (even after I told him it was hurting, he tried to reassure me it was okay) that my nails were hypersensitive, red, raw, and painful for weeks. I typically have very strong natural nails so this was jarring. I couldn’t even run water over them because it hurt so badly. THEN they started splitting and cracking because they’re so brittle now. I can’t even reach in my pocket without my nail splitting further and cracking at the top. I was traveling through San Diego for a conference, staying at the Sonder bungalows in Little Italy. My flight arrived late due to storms en route, and I desperately needed a mani/pedi before going to a dinner in 45 minutes. I found Bella Paris on Google maps (it’s just down the street from the bungalows) and jumped in to see if they could work me in. The place was packed, but with two staffers working on me, they managed to give me a gorgeous mani/pedi in 30 minutes, just in time for the dinner! Very clean, relaxing atmosphere. Extremely disappointed in the quality of this place. This used to be my mom and I’s go to and the quality has severely plummeted. I got a French gel manicure 5 days ago and my base has already started to peel off on 2 nails and the white is chipping off on 1 nail and the white was applied so sloppy that more than half have issues. It was $200 for 2 people…way too expensive for my gel manicure to not even last a week! I unfortunately do not live close so I now have to spend another $70 plus to get them fixed somewhere else! That was the last time. Very sad when go to spots no longer...
