It's been a few years since I posted the review below, but nothing has changed - if anything, Cucina Migrante is even better! Given the memorable experiences my family and I have experienced with Francesco, Adissa, and team, I decided to reach out to them to help me celebrate my 50th birthday last month. In addition to cooking classes at their location, Cucina Migrante can cook in your home or do cooking classes in your home.
For my 50th, I decided I wanted a memorable experience not just for me, but for the entire family. I'm a big proponent of giving experiences instead of things- especially when food and wine are involved. I decided to have Cucina Migrante cook for 10 of us at my sister's house. Francesco and his team were super easy to deal with as we planned the event, and it couldn't have gone any better! His team brought a lighthearted mood to the dinner, and really helped everyone enjoy the evening. The food was fabulous, as was the wine. My family has not stopped talking about what a great experience that was, and what a great way to help celebrate a milestone birthday.
I highly recommend booking your next event with Cucina Migrante. You will not be disappointed.
Hats off to the entire team, especially Francesco and Adissa!
I cannot recommend Cucina Migrante enough! Do not go anywhere else – everything you’re looking for in a cooking event is right here! I treated my mother, sister, and younger nephew (age 13) to a cooking class at Francesco’s and Adisa’s home on 5/20/2021 and we still haven’t stopped talking about it!
When we arrived at their home we were greeted warmly and invited to sit on their lovely outside patio while both Franceso and Adia brought out some appetizers including a flatbread, burrata with tomatoes, and two delicious hard cheeses. Within 5 minutes we were all relaxed and already having a great time.
After about 30 minutes of Champagne (we purchased ourselves, but there was wine available throughout the class), Francesco and Adisa showed us inside their beautiful home and directed us to wash our hands and grab an apron. We did wear masks within the house, but we were all good with that as we’re still trying to be as careful as possible.
We made fresh pasta with an artichoke sauce and chicken with dates and rosemary – both which were simple and delicious. I now know how to prepare an artichoke! My nephew, who loves to cook and bake, became the hit of the evening. Francesco and Adisa made him feel very welcome and worked with him closely to teach him how to make fresh pasta, as well as everything else. He had a blast! The adults also had a very memorable – we were taught new tips, had hands on experience, and just overall had a wonderful evening.
We made memories as a family that will last forever. We had such a good time my sister has shared Cucina Migrante’s website with multiple friends and I will definitely be planning another event with them when I visit San Diego again in November.
This is a must do activity! The ingredients were fresh, the menu innovative and fun, and Francesco and Adisa welcoming, kind, and fun!
Also, we had food restrictions that were accommodated with no issues at all and I found the scheduling and planning of the event to be very easy. All my questions were answered and the hosts were...
Read moreI came across Cucina Migrante and Ciccio (Francisco) through Airbnb experiences. I was looking for a creative way to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday and found this experience by Ciccio. I sent him a message, and he immediately wrote back to me. Along the way, communication with Ciccio was super fast and easy. Unfortunately, there were no tours on the day of the birthday and Cisco offered us his services as a private chef for a private dinner just for us. Eventually, we decided to celebrate his birthday in a different way, but Ciccio's invitation greatly interested us. A week after the birthday, we already booked a private dinner with Ciccio, which included six excellent dishes and four types of wine. The price included everything. We got to Ciccio's home, which was amazingly beautiful. This is a Victorian house, which everything remains exactly the same since then, with a spectacular seating area in the front yard. The food was very tasty, Ciccio's company was wonderful and the atmosphere was magical. That evening we left his house enthusiastically to tell all our friends about this experience. The next day we celebrated a birthday at a friend's house and her husband booked for her a chef to come and cook for all of the guests. Unfortunately, the chef canceled four hours before the event and we had to find an alternative and fast solution. We immediately contacted Ciccio, who luckily was available and offered to come and help. It was an amazing experience. Our friends could see, understand, and taste everything we talked about the day before. It was a huge privilege to eat Ciccio's food day after day. The humanity, multiculturalism, help, food, kindness, and personality have captured us into his magic. Ciccio, thank you for an extraordinary experience as a couple and as a group. We are confident that we will meet again soon and warmly recommend every one of Ciccio's wonderful services - whether it's on a tour, a group experience or a private dinner. THANK YOU again!!!!! We...
Read moreIt gives me great pleasure to recommend Cucina Migrante for your next private chef experience! Francesco and Adisa created a most special and delicious meal for us while we were in La Jolla for a family reunion. They kicked things off with a platter of artisanal cheeses, salami, grilled artichoke hearts, and prosciutto. The pasta course was a generous portion of fresh pappardelle with their signature tomato sauce. We chose chicken with dates as our protein course because none of us had ever had such a combination, and it was so delicious that many of us now want to try to make it at home. For dessert, we had what we all agreed was the best panna cotta any of us have ever had – so silky, smooth and light. We were also treated to a different wine pairing for every course, which just seemed to elevate the overall luxury feeling of the whole evening. Our group was raving about the meal all through that evening, and we were all still talking about it the next day as well!
Francesco and Adisa were professional and easy to work with too. Email communication was quick and clear, and the menu choices and options were laid out in an easy-to-understand proposal.
Additionally, upon learning that some of our group really liked to do food tours while traveling, I contacted Cucina Migrante with only a few days’ notice to see if it was possible to do a food tour of San Diego’s Little Italy. And it was! Francesco led us on a three-stop tour to sample some house specialties of that unique neighborhood, all the while sharing with us a little of the history of the region. It was a pleasant and delicious way to spend an afternoon. We were already looking forward to our planned dinner later in the week, but after the tour, we were especially looking forward to it!
Thank you Francesco and Adisa for helping to make our family reunion special...
