Crawford Glam — Local services in San Diego

For context, I have been getting hair extensions for the past 5 years and recently moved to SD from the Bay Area. I have never written a negative review of a hair stylist, but this warrants it. Similar to what other upset and disappointed customers have said, I got my extensions done by the owner (Ediane Rodrigues) and had the worst hair/extensions experience I’ve ever had. She convinced me to buy new hair extensions from her using the sew in method, which I have never used before, as I usually do k-tips. The extensions she put in do not match my real hair color so it’s very obvious I have extensions in, the placement of the sew in extensions is bulky and not discreet, and most importantly they hurt so badly I’ve had a migraine since getting them put in. I reached out to Ediane the morning after she did my hair and asked if I could get them removed and if I could be refunded at least partially since I will be needing to get my hair extensions done elsewhere. Once I mentioned getting refunded, she started freaking out, yelling at me, and gaslighting me. This service cost a total of $900 and she said she’d refund me $50, which she claimed was the cost of installation. Additionally, she only accepted payment by Venmo/Zelle which I found sketchy and unprofessional…not sure how legitimate this “business” is. Thanks to Crawford Glam and specifically Ediane Rodrigues, I am $900 in the hole and will be getting my hair extensions redone somewhere else tomorrow. I am disgusted by this woman’s lack of professionalism and hope this review helps to prevent this from happening to anyone else. I am still hoping she will Venmo me back at least half of what I paid, as I don’t mind paying for her time at all but she actually threatened to charge me additional fees that she claims she never charged during my service once I asked for any sort of refund. BEWARE OF THIS SALON!

Based on the response to my review (which was probably written by Ediane Rodrigues), I have attached some images and decided to provide additional information because this is just ridiculous. First image is a screenshot of my venmo payment to Ediane Rodrigues, who conveniently changed her profile image since I paid her. When I got to the salon I was told my total services would be $900 and that is the price that was agreed to, as I would never agree to any hair service for $4000. The other two photos are my extensions. The hair itself is nice, but it simply does not match my real hair and the way it was installed is very obvious and painful, hence why I asked to have them removed with a refund. When I called to make an appointment at Crawford Glam I was led believe it was actually Crawford Glam that I would be getting an appointment with and that I would be getting me extensions done by the "owner", Ediane, who was the only person I communicated with. However, when I got to the mall where the salon was supposed to be, Ediane called me and instructed me to come to "Phenix Salons" which are similar to Sola Salons in that there are many different rooms with independents stylists. The room had a carpet with the "Crawford Glam" logo on it and Ediane proudly discussed how she is the owner of Crawford Glam and that their permanent salon is under "temporary" construction. It felt sketchy to begin with, but I was desperate to get my hair done. Based on this awful and deceptive experience, Also, I discovered Ediane is not a licensed cosmetologist because apparently you do not need a license to do hair extensions so she has no legitimacy or license to her name. I recently had the pleasure of getting my highlights done by Bia, and I must say that she did an absolutely amazing job. From start to finish, Bia displayed exceptional skill and professionalism that left me feeling ecstatic about my new look.

Overall, I cannot recommend Bia highly enough. Her talent, skill, and dedication to her clients make her an exceptional hairdresser. The OWNER of this hair salon installed my extensions improperly. My head was in so much pain, I couldn’t sleep at night. Threads were hanging and showing. The extensions were falling out every other week. I wasn’t familiar with these type of extensions though, so I tried my best. I decided to visit another salon and that’s when they told me the extensions were put in wrong and my real hair was ripping out. Several hair stylists looked at my extensions and agreed. I called the salon and asked for my money back from just the installation. I said it was ok to charge me for everything else they did, including the hair I got and she was incredibly upset and refused. She pretended that it was not her on the phone and told me I must be mistreating my hair. She told me the other hair stylists must be lying to me to get me to spend more money. She repeatedly asked for their names, which was weird. She insulted me and now she is posting lies under this. I will not be bullied or pushed around. I make all of my own money and I have enough money to pay for all my services. I gave this salon many many tries. I am shocked by the treatment I received. To be told extensions are literally ripping out your hair and then to be screamed at for that is actually traumatizing. I was kind to all the workers there and none of my payments declined, not once. I got angry on the phone with the owner, when she started telling me this was all my fault and refusing. She was screaming over me and telling me I mistreat my hair. I got nasty because my hair is literally being ripped out and I’ve been so uncomfortable, I can’t sleep at night and she would not listen or let me speak.
