Cut — Local services in San Diego

I am so happy that Karaline Nichole is at this salon!! I used to go to her when I lived in the East Bay Area up near San Francisco. I was so bummed to not have my hair done by her when I moved to San Diego. Then to my happy surprise, she moved to San Diego and started working at Cut! Cut has gained a rockstar. I am always so in love when Karaline does my hair. She is truly kind and makes you feel beautiful. She really listens to what you want and delivers above and beyond.

My hair feels so healthy after I get a cut with Karaline. I was just stopped by a woman the other day asking if my hair color was natural and I said "Nope! Partial highlight by Karaline at the salon Cut in downtown." She was shocked because it looks so natural.

I am happy every time I leave Cut. The women at the front desk are so polite, greet you right away and say goodbye when you leave. You are offered a beverage during your appointment which is such a nice gesture. The stylists are so sweet to each other and when they are passing by they stop and compliment each others work. I love the art that they have around the salon. The parking is street parking and metered parking. I usually go on Wednesday mornings and have no trouble at all finding a parking spot out front. Once you are through the doors you go up some stairs and it is on your left.

Don't go here! While the stylists may be good, they have horrible customer policy. We had a situation where a dental appt was running late and and we had to reschedule for later in the day which they did. Before second appt, we called to say we are in traffic and would be there 15 minutes behind, and they said come on in. We get there and stylist left, even with the warning. After saying we wanted our deposit back for showing up and stylist not being there, they said this was our fault for being late, and that we owed them. It would be one thing if we didn't show at all, it would be one thing if we showed up late with no warning, it would be one thing if they said don't come in because stylist can do job losing 15 minutes, but none of this was true. After speaking with owner, I was shocked he would be petty and argue about $35 but preferred to defend a stylist who couldn't wait after being told we were late, instead of protecting their own business and arguing with customers.... Also, the owner tried to say I was petty when in fact he is petty and frankly running a scam .... There are far better shops / salons etc in the area , pls don't support...

I can not recommend Cut Salon enough! I’ve been seeing Guy for about 6months now and I will never see anyone else. He is absolutely amazing at what he does. I’ve gone through two HUGE color transformations and he NAILED IT. What I love most about Guy is that he is extremely patient and detail oriented. I’ve had issues in the past with other stylists (at different salons) rushing through the end of my apt in anticipation of their next client. Guy is great at time management and ensuring there’s plenty of time to make your hair look incredible. He’s such a kind soul and easy to talk to. The salon itself is very clean and modern. They have robes you can put on to protect your clothes and fruit infused water by the entrance. My favorite thing about the salon is the views! Incredible views of downtown and the best sunsets ever.
