East Village Market — Local services in San Diego

I almost gave the place 2 stars. Terrible way to start a review, but when depending on thw clerk the price you pay changes ...it tenda to make you remember a place in a less than positive way overall. All the clerks are hustlers! Dont get me wrong there, but the older guy in glasses with the dark grey stubble beard is the 1 to really watch out for. He'll say what he has to juat to make hear that register drawer pop & doesn't take kindly to being called out on adding on things. Example - They have a deli, lunch is alright, norhing special, the tiny cut up sandwiches in the coolers with drinks are not only baf, but nearly vegan with the bread to turkey, ham etc ratio being super bad, the breakfast sandwiches are by far the only thing that saves this place & you'll pay close to EIGHT BUCKS for 1 after the before mentioned fella rings you up tacking on charges like 'extra' cheese, bacon whatever. The young guy atleast appears to still not be dead inside & speaks to you, not at you. The bald older gentleman is entertaining. He says things like he made it just for you, had something in stock just for you, & you may have onky been there a time or 2 before. It's alright if your options are limited to this or do without. Things like jerseys are a steal actually! But watch your total when being rang up & if you remember the older saying, "If you have to ask you cant afford it." THIS PLACE is slick & you gotta be careful, for example buying vape cartridges check thw milligram, the bearded guy will juat answer yes no matter what to make the sale. Wish I could be more positive, but ...it is not aggregated at all, I hold no malice toward the shop, it's just from my experiences...

This market is a staple in San Diego Downtown. A trolley station and bus stop is right outside of the entrance. The men who work at this market work extremely hard and always keep a very positive attitude. The owner is very innovative and always has rare exotic products. They just built a deli inside of their shop and it's amazing. They said they will have their beer license sometime soon, so I'm excited for when that's going to happen. The people here treat you like family and it's a blessing to have people like this in the community who support one another the way they do. I’m never disappointed! Every time I run out of pre workout east village market has the perfect quick fix replacement with exceptional quality! This place has One of the best selections of health conscious on the go (not powder containers) sports drinks I’ve seen in a long time.
