Worst outdoor venue ever!!! If you haven't been there for a concert, get there early. Try to get your spot high as you can. If you are not high up on the grass, don't plan on being able to see the performers. The big screens on either side of the stage are partly blocked by the metal canopy supports. The concert I went to was sold out. We were early, but not early enough to be high up. We were on the grass , but unfortunately at the bottom of the slope. The pathway to go to the restroom or grab a drink was right in front of us. That was fine until all the rude "Johnny come lately " people would pack up the pathway until there wasn't one. So sitting in our spot was no longer an option (see pics). I've stood for entire concert before, but when rude people come and stand 2 feet in front of you, it sucks. Can you say " Fire Hazard "? Over sold is more like it. They should have roped off the pathways instead of over selling tickets. Very unsafe incase of a need to evacuate. First and last time we will spend good money to not fully enjoy a...
Read moreI had never been to this venue for a concert. It has a massive outdoor courtyard for walking and gathering. Plenty of fake grass hills to sit and hang out. Being surrounded by all the tall buildings for a night concert was really neat. The vibe was indescribable as anyone living in the highrise buildings overlooking Gallagher Square seemed all about the concerts they would be seeing from their balconies. It really was a vive.
The food options for the venue seemed a bit lacking, but that's hardly a negative as most places don't offer full service or meal options. Usually snack type concessions. They also kept merch tables off to the left and away from the gathering area. It really is a massive space! Hard to put it in words until you go to a concert and really feel and see for yourself.
We never had any issues with staff as we knew the rules and abided by them. This allowed us to have a great night w/o distractions. The Midnight was stellar in concert! I wanna go back just for the nightlife vibe that was...
Read moreI planned to attend the Pixies concert tonight. I took the trolley to the venue and brought a small bag to the show. I was denied entry to the venue because my bag was too wide by 1.5 inches. Security told me to return to my car to leave the bag...what car? I took the trolley as recomended by the venue. I asked if I could carry my wallet (5" by 3"), phone etc. and was told no because I could not fold the nylon purse and carry it. What?? My bag is 5" tall by 8.5 " wide. Yes, it is over their size limit but I am not sure what an 1.5 inches would allow me to bring in,especially if it is folded up in my pocket. I bought this ticket from Live Nation who owns and operates the North Island Credit union venue which does not enforce a size limit onbags brought into the venue, althought they claim to have limits. What gives? I have not been to Gallagher Square for a concert and I doubt I...
