I had a great experience with Dr. Hefzi today. I had a procedure done that was recommended by my primary doctor so this was my first time at this off and meeting Dr. Hefzi. The front desk coordinator was lack luster both during check in and check out. She didnāt speak much but rather just gave me a prodding look like she was expecting me to speak so I was confused on what information she needed of meāsome places want a verbal name some just want you to hand them your ID, everywhere is differentāand when I checked out I stood there looking at the two coordinators unsure which one to go to as both just stared at me. The one I checked in with said āyou can come up to either of usā in an annoyed tone. So that was the only negative. I get it, I have worked medical front desk positions in the past. Itās a very tough job that can burn you out quickly. However, everything else about the appt was great. The assistant during the procedure (I think her name was Kayla? Iām sorry I was nervous at the time!) was AMAZING. She immediately put me at ease with her smile and her positive demeanor. She was also extremely knowledgeable and great with communication of everything I needed to know before and after the procedure. Dr. Hefzi was also very kind and informed me of everything happening during the procedure and what to expect after. I didnāt feel like ājust another patientā I felt that they really went above and beyond which is difficult to do when Iām sure theyāre doing this procedure over and over all day long. I felt very at ease. So I would recommend Dr. Hefzi and this...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI recently had a frustrating experience with Scripps regarding a panel ordered by my wife's nurse-midwife at this location. After receiving the CPT code from her nurse-midwife, I obtained a cost estimate from Scripps based on that code. However, when we arrived for the panel at their lab, Scripps used different CPT codes than those provided by both the nurse-midwife and their own estimate.
I reached out to their billing department three times for clarification. During my first call, I was assured that they would resubmit the claim. Weeks later, I was informed that they were still waiting for a response from my insurance, which seemed illogical since it is their responsibility to submit the claim correctly.
On my third call, I was finally told that they were not waiting on a response from insurance at all. Instead, they admitted they refused to file the claim correctly, disregarding the information provided by their own nurse-midwives and estimates.
I tried calling the OB-GYN office directly, with the hopes they can fix the billing issue, however they redirected me back to the billing department. We have no other way of reaching out to the nurse-midwife to rectify this situation (MyChart does not allow messages to ones provider after some time).
This experience has led me to believe that their billing practices are unethical, as it appears they are prioritizing their profits over accurate and fair billing. I cannot recommend Scripps based on this experience and have decided to cancel any future appointments...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAvoid Dr. Hui at all costs. She is impossible to get ahold of and doesn't care about her patients. This is my first pregancy and I've been scheduled to see her TWICE for my 2 very first baby appointments. Both times the office has called me 2 days before the scheduled appointment asking if they could reschedule me to another day because she is already "overbooked". This wasn't going to work because I already requested work off for that day and its not easy to get days off. Luckily I was able to keep my appointment but I was only able to see a midwife ( Jessica Pica) who is an absolute angel, I really wish she was a doctor because she's amazing.
Today I called the office to see if they have recieved my fetal genetic testing results back from labcorp. The office staff said they had the results back but Dr. Hui had to be the one to call me about them and that she would call me when she "has time". Well its Friday afternoon, the office is closed and I never received a call from her. Now I have to wait until Tuesday to get the results since Monday is a holiday. And that's "if" she has time to call me about them. This is extremely unprofessional and the lack of organization is beyond me. Im extremely upset about this ongoing problem with her and will immediately be calling the office Tuesday morning to switch doctors. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND GET YOURSELF A DIFFERENT DOCTOR BEFORE SHE...
