We purchased a UT San Diego deal -- we loved the idea of Xmas tree shopping close to Balboa park, and they said you could have any greenery you wanted PLUS they give you hot chocolate and candy canes. Sounded like an event! So, our ticket had the wrong address on it -- we ended up googling it to find it on Quince street. When we got there, there was very little parking, just a spattering of trees up -- forget the hot chocolate. Worst of all - all the trees were CRISPY dried out! We couldn't believe it! I've not ever seen crispy Xmas trees before -- and this is shopping 2 days after Thxgiving when you think they'd be fresh! They finally unearthed one that we could live with -- they didn't have one of those machines to knock off the dead needles (and there were TONS of them) . . . no thanks. I asked for greenery, and they let me pick the stuff on the ground (not much there). Never again -- I'll stick with the place in El Cajon that we've always gone to . . .this was...
Read moreHad a great experience here! All the trees were beautiful and it was easy to quickly view each tree. Trees of all sizes were here some as tall as buildings! I got a Groupon and headed in to find a 5-6 ft tree. I found two beautiful ones right away and quickly was able to decide which would be mine. Read moreWent to the la jolla location. It was the worst. Barely any trees standing so most of them have one side smashed. The prices are ridiculous for the noble firs and they had only about 3 Douglas firs out of the nets!
Now it's late and we are headed to Home Depot. We should have stuck to our regular lot in Mira Mesa....
