OB Waves Salon — Local services in San Diego

Erica helped me repair damage done by over-bleaching my hair. She had great ideas for how to keep it looking blonde but require much less damage (and also less money!) to maintain. I basically just told her what I wanted generally, and she went off on her own and just did something awesome! So glad I trusted her to do what she thought best.

She even worked around me taking a phone call for work halfway through her session, which turned out to be a long call, meaning she basically had to completely start over afterward because it threw off all her timing. She didn’t even comment on that or seem annoyed, even though I felt bad about it and definitely delayed her for her next client.

And I kept expecting the bills to be higher — don’t get me wrong, it wasn’t cheap, but it was certainly worth it and less than I was expecting. Thank you Erica!!

**Editing to add: Madison is also awesome! I've been to her a few times for keratin treatments, and just like the hair cuts and color, they've come out way better from her than from the other couple places I've tried. Plus, I brought along my husband this time, and Madison gave him the best haircut he's gotten in a LONG time, maybe EVER.

Also, Erica was sick and had to cancel (totally understandable and appreciated!), but she and Madison made sure I was covered to touch up my roots before an important event. Madison squeezed me in last-minute and took great care of me. As usual, my hair looks exactly how I wanted it to look!

On top of all that goodness, we somehow only paid $105 for both of us (with a discount for the last-minute change, and not including the tip), which seems crazy low!

I went to OB waves last week for a trim so I could let my hair grow out. ( I am currently growing out a pixie). I had never been there but it’s so close to my home, I can walk, and it has a 5 rating., so I decided to make an appointment. That morning I made an appointment for the same afternoon. The salon is bright and clean and welcoming. Amy was my stylist. I totally loved her! She’s sweet and fun and informative. And while I drank a glass of wine and we chatted like old friends, she took her time and cut my hair perfectly so I could allow my hair to start growing out to a bob length. I am definitely looking forward to my next visit... which fast forward was sooner then I imagined... I woke up and this am and decided I missed my short hair. I went online and booked with Erika, as Amy wasn’t available. I got there, she took me to her chair immediately. I actually showed her a picture and about 45 min later I walked out with the cutest , flattering, short pixie I’ve ever had before. I loved how Erika seemed to just know exactly what I wanted and what would work! And she’s so cute and personable ! I’ve had 2 Great experiences after a few bad ones at other salons! April cut my hair on a quiet Sunday. She really listened to what I wanted. She didn't verbally respond to every single thing I brain dumped on her about my hair, instead she made her own professional judgement and let me know that the damage I was experiencing was mostly from dry hair and that leaving some conditioner in my hair will help (it has :). Her calm was reassuring and fresh. I thought I would have to get so much cut off in order for it to be healthy again! I have been to spas and salons all over the world and I couldn't be happier that this zen little place nestled in at a corner in my part of the world.
