Want some fun recommendations for wine from a knowledgeable hostess? The last time I was here was pre COVID, when there was a parking lot and no weird, noisy, near death experience car circle. Out hostess showed us some wines. I was over excited and decided quickly instead of listening to more options. Our first Italian chianti was not a favorite and the second bottle was better. We had a bday dinner here, friendly folks brought out a cookie and delicious ice cream for dessert with a candle on it. One friend was a bit disappointed that the meat and cheese plate (delicious warm bread and great spread!) was not explained when it came out, she said they did before COVID, and that she had to send the salad back because the dressing wasn't on the side like she asked. (If you take half home, if dressing is on it, it will be soggy.) The other friend said the braised beef was cool on the inside. My salmon with potato and onion pancake was very hot and so we traded. If you go at night, bring a jacket. They have heaters for every two tables. There are about five spots in the front. The rest is street parking. It was hard to find. We hiked for about five blocks. We made reservations. I've never tried some of the seafood or duck options, but maybe I will next time!

We had an excellent experience at The 3rd Corner in Ocean Beach. The service was warm and attentive. The food was outstanding, fresh, flavorful and beautifully prepared. I enjoyed browsing through the great selection of wine displayed throughout the dining area. I also appreciated that they serve filtered and high quality water. We started with the Caesar salad, which was crisp and refreshing with a creamy dressing, generous shavings of parmesan, and topped with anchovies that added a perfect briny kick The shrimp pasta was perfectly cooked, with generous portions of shrimp, savory herbs, and just the right amount of cheese on top. The short ribs were incredibly tender and rich, served over creamy mashed potatoes with a delicious gravy, paired with fresh sautéed vegetables. The baguette was also baked fresh and had a perfect crust. Everything we tried was spot-on. Highly recommend this place for a great meal and top-notch service!

My husband and I eat here at least twice a month. It’s one of our favorite neighborhood restaurants. Excellent food, prices, & service. Noise level is lower than most restaurants. You can actually have a conversation, imagine that! Seating is in many different rooms: one room holds rows of red wines, seating and a large bar. Another room holds rows of white wine and sparkling wines, plus seating. A third room is seating only. The best selection of wine in Point Loma, and maybe in all of San Diego. I’m a fan of their prix fix menu on Sundays: salad , entree, dessert for about $30. Excellent mussels and fries, salads, hamburgers, ahi en croute, salmon. I’ve stopped ordering the duck confit because the skin has been soft and flabby lately. I prefer it crispy. Also there has not been a sauce served with the duck confit like at some other French restaurants. That’s about the only item I dislike on the entire menu.

Menu looks amazing, patio is well spaced out. My service animal and I were looking for a nice late lunch after taking an shorter work day. There were no colloquial interactions. Just is that a service animal. I answered yes. No service I would have expected from a wine bar followed. I was sat at a table in the sun, not under an umbrella, and along a dumpster. There was 1 other table seated on the patio. No pleasantries, just what are you ordering to start. I asked for some extra water for my animal and my app order. The server did not show me the wine list nor wait for my question on the wine list - he left as quickly as possible. The server returned to the table to ask what task does my animal perform, and no bowl. I answered she alerts and assists to exacerbations of my condition. I stated if my animal is an issue, I am happy to take my business elsewhere. The server replied "I just don't like being taken advantage of". So I...
