Went to this place hoping for some post-sale client-care services for my Tabi boots, which started falling apart after barely six months of wear. Instead, I was greeted by what could only be described as a walking stereotype of a design store salesperson. I think her name was Kira? because that's what her name tag said, though her actual job seemed to be radiating automatic antipathy toward customer service. Bold move, considering her career path.
It's almost comical how some folks in these places still cling to the outdated notion that pretentiousness is cool. Didn't we all agree that not taking oneself too seriously is the punk of this era?
So, Kira's solution to my quality woes was to suggest I trot my limited-edition Tabi boots off to a cobbler. Maybe she was joking?
Maybe it's time for Margiela SF to invest in some basic training for their staff on understanding the craftsmanship behind the brand. After all, isn't that supposed to be one of the heavy-hitting selling points of brands like Maison Margiela, etc?
And don't even get me started on Margiela's so-called "warranty" – amateur hour, folks. But hey, that's a whole other can of worms.
Long story short, miss me with this...
Read moreBy far the best store experience I have ever had. Usually people feel out of place at a luxury store and are scared to even walk in, let alone try clothes out. Both the employees at the store gave me and my friends their undivided attention for close to an hour as there weren't any other customers there. They were unbelievably enthusiastic about us trying on their clothes and they were extremely well informed about to the brand history and piece material too. They were encouraging us to try on pieces and they even asked us to come out of the fitting rooms and show them what we wore, quoting an employee "Margiela pieces truly come to life on the body"! It was almost as we were all friends hanging out. They took us through every section of the store including fragrances and books and they helped us out and explained what would suit us based upon our individual styles. The nicest employees at any store I've ever been to. After I left the store, I found all the other boutiques on Union square to be substandard compared to our friends at Maison Martin Margiela. Would easily give more than five...
Read moreI rarely write reviews but felt this necessary—Went there to try out some new perfumes. I already have the Beach Walk and wanted to check out the others. The salesperson, Kira was incredibly helpful and warm. Made me feel at home in a luxury store which I don’t often frequent. I was eyeing the Tabis and Kira asked if I wanted to try some styles. Never felt pressured to buy, but rather encouraged to just enjoy the experience. I purchased the « Untitled » perfume and left. Decided to come back 3 weeks later after thinking about the Tabis nonstop. Kira was again there, remembered me and got the Tabis I had liked. They were still amazing so I purchased. They are my first luxury purchase and I’m so happy to have had a great experience, not feeling like a guest, but rather right at home. Kira was fantastic as was the manager, Frankie. Looking forward to...
