I’m incredibly disappointed and rightfully upset. On every website, including your own, your parking garage says it’s open 24/7. I went to pick up my car at about 8:30 PM and the front desk said the garage was closed.
I am nearly 7 months pregnant and was forced to find a hotel for the night. I was denied access to my car to get medication or any personal effects.
When I entered the garage that morning to park, they said self parking was full (despite no signage indicating this), so the valet took my car and keys, stating it would be $35 max.
When I returned the next morning to retrieve my car, I was told I owed over $60. I explained that I just spent $500 + on a hotel due to your company’s false advertisement online and negligence. They ultimately charged me $45 (despite being told the day before that the maximum fee was $35). One of the attendants checked the internet to verify what I was claiming, and called his boss acknowledging the websites needed to be updated. The other attendant was stone cold and non-empathetic, he did not acknowledge anything I was saying and kept gesturing to me where the keypad was to pay. (The same attendant who took my car the day before telling me it would be $35 max and now charging me $45).
I would consider this grossly negligent, and I mean that in legal terms. Your company and attendants actions resulted in undue harm and emotional distress to me and my pregnancy, and took no real action to remedy the situation or even apologized.
TLDR / Recap: I did my due diligence in checking the parking garage hours — you falsely advertised. I was not anticipating being stranded alone at 8:45 PM, with only the clothes on my back and a laptop bag, in a foreign city, while almost 7 months pregnant without my medication. The situation was already extremely stressful — and compounded with pregnancy and the active tsunami warning from an 8.8 earthquake. All I wanted was to go home and rest.
