Sand Tropez — Local services in Seaside Heights

I had an extremely disturbing experience at the Sand Tropéz store this morning, on 8/10/2025. This experience involved the staff and the general manager.

When I walked into the fitting room, the general manager said to me, “Smile to the camera.” I immediately found this comment inappropriate and unsettling. After making the comment, I was told by an employee that he disappeared into the back of the store while I was still in the fitting room. How am I supposed to know he wasn’t looking at the cameras while I was changing? That is deeply concerning and completely unacceptable.

When I later confronted him about it, instead of taking responsibility, he brushed it off as “just a joke” and claimed I was taking it out of context. HE SHOULD NOT BE CATERING TO WOMEN OR YOUNG GIRLS IF HE IS GOING TO BE CREEPY.

Multiple employees stood up for his behavior and said that he “makes jokes all of the time.” This was also concerning, as it shows that this is a regular behavior for him.

After I left the fitting room, my companion and I were followed around the store for no reason, which made the situation even worse. The behavior felt targeted and discriminatory.

No customer should be subjected to invasive comments, have their concerns dismissed by management, or feel unsafe and watched in a fitting room. This was not only unprofessional — it was inappropriate, creepy, and a violation of basic customer trust. At this point, I would love the escalate this further because it’s genuinely disturbing, however they told me that the general manager wounded the store and it’s a family business. A store employee told me that I could write a review on the experience, so here we are.
