Beach Books — Local services in Seaside

I can’t even begin to tell you how amazing this hidden little gem is, but I’m going to try, because this store is one of the biggest reasons why, when friends want to go to the coast, Seaside is my first suggestion.

When you walk in, you’ll immediately feel at home. It’s not crowded, with beautifully laid out displays, dark woods, big windows, a little balcony, and all the hidden nooks and crannies you could want in your favorite secret library, all filled with books. The selection is so bleeding edge you’ll think you’ve got a paper cut: newest releases share space with old favorites, and recommendations are sprinkled on every shelf. “If you like [this thing], this is why you’ll love [this one].” And they have always been right.

The staff has always been excellent, but on our last trip, the one that made me finally write a review, Alexa was at the desk, and Alexa is Queen Of The YA Section. She knows their whole stock, but my friends and I came in on a dead evening in February and got the honor of spending half an hour with her in YA, just trading favorite story recommendations and each walking out with an armful of new reads. She is positively a delight and won’t steer you wrong.

Absolutely adorable book store in the sweet little beachside town of Seaside. You open the door of the old restored building and are transported to another time. Take a deep breath to smell the books and listen to sound of your footsteps tap on the beautiful hardwood floor. They have a little something for everyone. They of course carry books, but also coloring books, cards, calenders, and some pretty cool gift ideas. I purchased some of the cheeky kitchen towels as well as other items dripping with comedy and soaked in shenanigans and malarkey. I appreciated the liberated and free spirited atmosphere. The building is gorgeous and has a cozy little seating area up in the loft. I could literally sit in there all day if I could. The staff was friendly and helpful with locating specific items. I visited here with a friend who highly recommended the store. A friend of hers worked there and her dad also frequently visited this store. First impressions the store was super inviting, lit well and organized. The staff were beyond kind and hand answers to everything and was attentive to everyone. the book I bought I ended up loving. However I had to return home and decided to hop onto their website and order the 2nd and 3rd book in the series. This seemed like the right place to buy from because it was where there 1st book came from and my experience was so good. Well they exceeded my expectations yet again when my books arrived at a sooner than I had anticipated, not only did it have the two books I ordered but a free 3rd book that was the same Genre as the others!
