My companion and I recently dined at Una Vds Mas, and I must say, our experience left us quite perplexed. The culinary delights served to us were, without a doubt, delectable as always. However, the service we received was nothing short of outrageous. Upon our arrival, we were graciously escorted to a booth by a mature woman, perhaps in her fifties. Unfortunately, from that moment onward, our encounter with this particular staff member was marred by her egregiously rude demeanor. Not only did she seat us, but she also assumed the role of our server, and her lack of friendliness was palpable.
As we settled into our seats, we promptly placed our drink orders, followed by an appetizer selection. Regrettably, the lady attending to us seemed to disregard my female companion's attempts to place her order. Instead, she directed her gaze towards me, as if seeking my approval for each of my friend's choices. Consequently, I found myself nodding in agreement or reiterating my companion's requests. I opted for a Cadillac Margarita, while my friend requested a glass of water. The lady promptly delivered my drink and my friend's water, followed by a serving of chips and salsa.
Curiosity piqued, my friend inquired about the availability of a specific salsa, only to be met with a condescending look from our server, who curtly replied, "That's the only one." In response, I decided to order a side of pico De gallo for an additional six dollars, which, in hindsight, proved to be an underwhelming choice. Additionally, I requested a side of guacamole, which, at a price of five dollars, was indeed worth the indulgence. Our server promptly brought forth the requested items, which we promptly mixed into the salsa, enhancing its flavor with a dash of hot sauce from the table.
With our appetites whetted, we proceeded to place our main course orders. Personally, I wasted no time in selecting the tamales, a dish that has consistently delighted my taste buds in the past. Meanwhile, my friend sought clarification on specific menu items, only to be met with an air of disdain. Frustrated by the lack of patience displayed by our server, I took it upon myself to place the order on my friend's behalf, as she was not afforded the opportunity to ponder her choices or seek further clarification.
Throughout the remainder of our meal, the server would intermittently approach our table, inquiring about the quality of our dining experience, with a particular emphasis on my satisfaction as the male patron. Unfortunately, her demeanor towards my friend remained glaringly hostile. While the food was undeniably delicious, the subpar service left much to be desired. Were I in a position of authority within Una Ves Mas, I would strongly consider reevaluating the staff members employed. While it is possible that our server was having an off day, the overall experience has certainly given me pause when considering future visits to this establishment. There are numerous Mexican restaurants that boast enthusiastic and customer-oriented staff, and I would much prefer to patronize those establishments rather than subject myself to such disdainful treatment.
In conclusion, I must regrettably state that I cannot, in good conscience, recommend Una Ves Mas, as our encounter fell far short of...
Read moreThe food was fine and the mexican vibe of the place. But experiencing a bad customer service at the beginning was unforgettable. We went to this place as a big group and the early birds from our group tried to reserve some room for others but one guy who happened to be assistant server was rude to talk them from the cashier desk to their table (which is near to the front door already). The guy asked them to come up to the cashier desk instead of him walking up to the table and attend their needs. Throwing that rudeness to us was quiet not very helpful with out hunger. We understand we came 30 mins before they close (8:30pm before 9PM closing), but the guy should not pressure us to finish up exactly at 9pm without having us properly seated yet. Some of us just left because of the service. I stayed with the others because we just wanna get over it and eat however the guy approached us and asking in arude tone again if we still want to eat there or not. He even stopped the other server to give us water and said that the guy should wait for another 30 mins for the drinks. My mom asked him to stop being rude because she is in a discussion with my aunt.
In conclusion, Customer service is part the food service and not just an extra thing. Food is good and tastes legit but having that rude encounter with the first guy server at the desk was the thing that stood out and remained in the whole experience.
I was doubtful of quality of the food because of that encounter and even hesitated to tip. But "large group gratituity" happened and I told the female server why I dont want to tip.
Note to future customers: If youre coming in late, just take to-go orders or just look for another place.
Note to the restaurant: Please respect your customers and dont be rude. I know its a tough job and toughest time will be the last hour of the shift but please hang in there and still...
Read morewas there last weekend with 3 other family members & was super excited to try it based off of the reviews--however, got there and the older woman signaling us how many people were less than pleasant. we said cuatro and obviously she sees a child but proceeded to POINT to the booth she wanted us to sit in with no warmth and walked away. after awhile, i assumed she would ask if we would like a booster or high chair for the toddler and that was non existent as well. with no hard feelings at that point still, i asked nicely if they had a high chair or so available. again, she proceeded to point to the corner of the place and said there...i didn't see it from where i was sitting so i got up and looked around and there it was partially hidden behind another booth. now it's almost unfair i had to give this rating because another woman was attending to us too (with bringing the food) and she was super pleasant. however, i wasn't sure if its a team work or this older woman felt that she's not gaining anything out of us that she was being rude--i said this because two groups came after us and she was super nice and struck up a great convo with them. at the beginning i just figured this just might be this person's attitude but obviously she picks and choose who she wants to be nice to. anyhow, the time came for the check and the younger woman asked if she can give us the check, and AGAIN, this woman literally threw the check book on our table as she was walking by with ZERO communication or even a thank you for dining with us today, NOTHING. a part of me wanted to give zero tips, but we did 25% to show...
