Absolutely Amazing Experience!
I recently dined at Aamrai, from the moment we walked in, the warm hospitality and inviting aroma of spices set the tone for an unforgettable meal.
We ordered a variety of dishes Shrimp Koliwada, Railway Mutton Curry, Tandoori roti, Bullet Naan, and every single item was bursting with authentic flavor. The spices were perfectly balanced. You can truly taste the care that goes into each dish.
The cocktails were expertly paired with the food, enhancing every bite with bold and complementary flavors. For dessert, we had the Ras-misu — a creative twist on the classic tiramisu infused with Indian flavors. It was incredibly light, rich, and just melted in our mouths. A perfect ending to an unforgettable meal!
The service was attentive and friendly without being overbearing. Our server took the time to explain the menu and make great recommendations. The ambiance was cozy, with traditional music and tasteful decor that made us feel like we were transported straight to India.
If you’re looking for authentic Indian cuisine with twist and top-notch service and a warm atmosphere, Aamrai is an absolute must-visit. Can’t wait...
Read moreWe ordered beet kebab, methi chicken tikka, tandoori roti, aamrai kofta curry and lucknowi chicken biryani.
There is nothing special about the food. It's very generic Indian food with fancy names. The beet kebab was deep fried and the batter was thick and chewy. Chicken tikka was a bit dry. The biryani ( again nothing lucknowi about it) lacked salt and had an excessive amount of mint. When we told the wait staff about it, they just brought some salt in a shaker to add to the food. Kofta curry was good; but it's just " malai kofta " you'll find in other Indian restaurants advertised differently. Tandoori rotis served to us were actually Naans!
We ordered the 'sitafal rabadi' dessert. Could not taste the sitafal ( custard apple ) - guess you need a vivid imagination. They gave another dessert on the house - the walnut cake - which was over baked and burnt on the sides and the bottom.
They also added an 18% gratuity automatically no matter the party size and didn't inform us upfront. The check worked out to $180 for 3 people and that's pricey considering we didn't order any drinks.
Overall, overpriced and not worth it. Will not be...
Read moreAamrai may be the most magical restaurant in all of Seattle. It's certainly the best in Capitol Hill and a paradise for Vegetarians.
Me and my partner went tonight for the soft opening. The atmosphere and service were impeccable, very attentive and helpful staff.
I do not remember the last time I had 19 options on a menu as a vegetarian. 19 options! I look forward to going back again and again to try all of their veggie dishes. My omni partner was also extremely pleased.
We had several cocktails including the raspberry lychee martini. We ordered a lot of food including the garlic naan, the Aamrai special kofta curry (me) and the Goat Biryani (meat eating partner). Everything we ate had an amazing depth of flavors and perfect spice. The portions were also huge, we took over half of our food home
I cannot recommend this place enough! It will be our go-to for takeout and dine-in...
