We went to PL based on a recommendation from the owner of our Sedona motel. We went there on a Friday night so we expected that it might be a little busy. We walked in the front door and waited behind a group of three. The female hostess told them the wait would be an hour despite the fact that multiple open tables were visible. When they walked out my wife asked about sitting at the bar since there were two open seats visible. The hostess said she would look at that possibility. She put our name on a list and asked us to wait outside. That sounds rude. However, they seem to have quite a robust take-out service, and if there were too many people waiting inside, the people might be in the way. While we were waiting on the patio, another couple went inside and had a similar conversation and were also told there would be a one hour wait. They too asked about sitting at the bar and were also told it would be a one hour wait so they walked out and went to a restaurant across the street. After a little while, I went back inside to remind the hostess that she was going to investigate seating us at the bar. I again asked about a table and she said she would see what she could do and might be able to squeeze us in. This is strange because they either do or do not have seats. She came back a couple of minutes later and said that if we wanted to sit at a tiny table, she could seat us right away. When she took us to that table, I was surprised to see That “the tiny table” that she was talking about was a very normal size table for two. What’s going on here? Do they not want customers or do they want bad reviews like this? Not long after we were seated our server arrived to take our drink and food order. We opted to share the Pollo E Pesto pizza and the Exotica Beet salad. While the salad was very tasty the presentation was poor. It looked like it was just plopped onto the plate rather than carefully plated. Having said that, it was very tasty. In particular the golden beets or wonderfully done. The pizza looked very good, but as we took the first few bites, we discovered there was a lot of liquid pouring out of it, which made the crust quite soggy – see pics. The pizza was fairly tasty, and the crust toward the outside edge was quite nice. If it hadn’t been so soggy, I might recommend it, but based on our experience, I can’t. Maybe the restaurant was just having a bad night, but based on our experience, I can’t recommend it.

3-stars means OK according to the Google review system. That’s exactly right. I ordered the Margherita pizza with layers of prosciutto to go, so this review will focus on the food rather than the holistic experience one would have sitting in the restaurant. At a glance, the seating area had a lot of character - dim, warm lighting; the wood-fired oven at the front with chefs making pizza live; it all looked fun. The pizza took about 15 minutes to be prepared from ordering. After, I headed to my abode and opened the box. My initial impression was disappointment due to the lack of even distribution of ingredients. On a Margherita pizza, the essential ingredients are basil, mozzarella cheese, and some tomato aspect. There were six pieces of basOk for a pizza slices into eight pieces; not everyone gets the Margherita experience. Overall, the majority of my dissatisfaction comes from the lack of toppings. See the pictures and decide for yourself: You may enjoy this style of pizza. Now onto the good. The crust was brilliant - crunchy but not burned, thin and able to maintain integrity when lifted and no leakage. The sauce was nice too with its balance of acidity and spice. Overall, I thought the experience was OK. The lack of toppings was unfortunate, because the pieces where everything came together were great (4-star). Pisa Lisa’s menu includes some unique offerings such as a lemon lover’s pizza and a number of vegan options which I would love to return and try, next time dining in rather than taking out.

We were looking for a place that was open after 8:00pm since we had gone to see a movie. We saw that Pisa Lisa was open. It was very busy and the only place they had open to sit, was at the bar. What a great decision that turned out to be! 😃 Michael, is the bar tender/manager extrordanaire. He was very friendly, interesting, courteous, quick witted and wanted to know about you, all the while mixing drinks and helping customers! I ordered the Ace Pear Cider and it was so very good😋 After perusing their various menu items, we ordered the Mi Quiero Chorizo Supremo pizza. It has Beeler's chorizo, provolone-mozzarella, pineapple, picante peppers, Mike's Hot Honey and srircha. We opted not to have the srircha on it and the pizza was amazing and we loved ♥️ it😋😋 Michael had told us a bit earlier, after we finished the pizza, to go check out their gelato, which they make fresh daily. We went to do that but the gelato had already been taken out of the case. When he saw that it had been put away, he ran to the back and returned with all the gelato containers in hand and wanted us to taste test it. So grateful that he did that because it was excellent!! I especially loved the Lemon Crust gelato, It was like eating a very cold lemon meringue pie ❣️😋. Overall, It was a fantastic meal, dessert and experience!!!!👍👍👍👍👍👍 We will definitely be going back to try try other delectable dishes there ❣️ Kudos to Michael for making it a memorable time👍❣️

Pisa Lisa @ Oak Creek..When we arrived the host informed us it would be a 30 minute wait, not a problem but then challenges began. They sat us by the pizza ovens facing them, other tables were available, I can deal with it but not what we wanted. The server never came to our table, I had to wave down another server to notify our server. The server assigned noticed us but still did not tend to us and we were already 20 minutes in, waiting. I felt she made us wait knowing we were watching, we are a bi-racial family and she tended to others promptly, we noticed they were all white patrons (observation). 30 minutes in and our drinks arrived (10 minutes for 2 waters and 2 iced teas, and a glass of Chardonnay). We moved tables when I asked if we could move to a better sitting place to seat comfortably with our family. The Bruschetta, meatballs and pizza were delicious, no complaint on the food. However, I had to notify the manager in 2 occasions to bring refills and an another glass of Chardonnay, not once did our server tend to us offered refills and did not bother on offering us desserts or if there was anything else we needed. The couple we shared our table with (a server asked if a couple can share our table, in which we didn’t mind, received better service - observation they were both white). Being we are in a bi-racial marriage and a bi-racial family we have experienced this numerous times. Both my wife and I, ensure we are not observing unfair situations; today was a day where we seen others tended to and treated much differently than us (maybe you can view the tapes from 3/9 5p-7p to understand our situation). We love Lisa’s restaurants and love to indulge with the wonderfully cooked food- we also love the services from Mariposa and Dahl Di Luca, we just wish today we felt comfortable in our service and treatment. Also, we truly understand Pisa Lisa’s environment is a more casual laid back service and we expect a causal dining service, but to not feel tended to and/or offered help at different times of our meal was unsettling for us and quite rare when we have visited multiple different restaurants of Lisa’s. We will always come back to Lisa’s establishments but hope next time at Pisa Lisa’s is a...

I recently had the pleasure of ordering takeout from Pisa Lisa in Sedona, and I must say it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. This restaurant exceeded my expectations with its delicious food and friendly service.

When I went to place .the girl who took my order was incredibly nice and sweet. She patiently listened to my preferences and provided helpful suggestions. Her friendly demeanor made the ordering process a breeze and left a positive impression even before I had tasted the food.

Now, let’s talk about the food itself. Every item I ordered from Pisa Lisa was absolutely fantastic. The flavors were rich, the ingredients were fresh, and the presentation was impeccable. It was evident that the chefs at Pisa Lisa have a true passion for their craft.

One dish that stood out was the pizza. The crust was perfectly thin and crispy, and the toppings were generously portioned, creating a harmonious blend of flavors. The combination of fresh ingredients and high-quality cheese made each bite a true delight. It was evident that great care was taken in crafting each pizza to perfection.

In addition to the pizza, I also tried some of their appetizers and sides. The garlic knots were heavenly, with just the right amount of garlic and butter. The Caprese salad was a refreshing and flavorful accompaniment to the meal, with ripe tomatoes, creamy mozzarella, and fragrant basil.

The overall experience of ordering from Pisa Lisa was exceptional. The food was prepared with care and attention to detail, and the flavors were outstanding. The portion sizes were generous, ensuring that I was satisfied with my meal. The packaging for the takeout order was also well thought out, ensuring that everything arrived in perfect condition.

In conclusion, I highly recommend Pisa Lisa in Sedona for their delicious food and friendly service. Whether you dine in or order takeout, you can expect a fantastic culinary experience. From the kind and sweet girl who took my order to the delectable flavors of their dishes, everything about my experience with Pisa Lisa was...
