Horrible service. Sat there for 15 minutes ignored. Had to finally flag a server who told us that we weren’t “written down” when we’d been seated, and they don’t have sections, but that she would take our order. We ordered biscuits and gravy and an omelette. A good restaurant could have that out in 10-15 minutes. We waited an extended period of time for a drink that I ordered. It took so long for the drink, I assumed our food would immediately follow. After 45 minutes of waiting for food after the drink finally came, we asked where it was. Again, had to flag the server down. Lots of apologies but no explanation as to why people who came after us had already been served and left the restaurant. The restaurant was pretty much cleared out and it was almost 11:30 am at this time. We were told our food was maybe sent to another table, my husband overheard the server saying that she could’ve sworn she put the order in…but this server continued to walk by us knowing the extended wait time that we were experiencing and never taking ownership of the fact that there was clearly a problem. While I stepped away to the restroom, the manager came to the table and apologized to my husband, and said she wasn’t sure what happened to our order, that she knew that we were in a hurry, and that she would have our food re-made and that it should be out in 5-10 minutes. We were not in a hurry, but did expect to have service without begging for it. We waited over an hour for food that never came out, that we were then told could be made in 5-10 minutes. After coming back to the table and waiting a few more minutes, I asked for the check with the two drinks that we had received, and the manger again came out and apologized and said that she had comped our whole bill. Two drinks received comped. That wasn’t impressive. Then they had the audacity to say we had ordered another drink..though it was offered by the server and still hadn’t come out in the midst of an empty bar and restaurant. Again, just no ownership by anyone here. It will be blamed on our lack of patience, or something else that the staff will blame on us, the patrons, I’m sure. That being said, I always try to give grace to the service industry especially, but this was so unacceptable. Needless to say, I wouldn’t recommend coming here. If you’re lucky and receive service within a reasonable amount of time, your experience may be different. But that was not the case for us, and it definitely ruined...
Read moreThere are literally almost no meals nor appetizers, nor dessert that are suitable for gluten free, nor for vegans or even vegetarians. I am GF and my friend is vegetarian and another non dairy and the options were almost nothing. I was able to eat the pepper appetizer. The first one was good and mild so we ordered another and the second was so hot that no one could eat it. The tuna I ate off of the tuna nachos was very good. I asked not once, but twice for my soup to be gluten free and it came with the croutons anyway. Thank God I am not celiac. I didn't have time to ask for a new one as the main course was already coming out by the time I could have. So I just picked them out. But that's not OK when I asked twice for gluten free. My steak was wonderful, but I did order the most expensive steam on the menu. The mashed potatoes were great too but for the price my side of potato's was a few tablespoons and my side of carrots was 3 mini carrots. Delicious but barely enough to pair with the 18oz steak that I got. So it left my longing. My friends got the smaller steak and, unfortunately it was so small that they all also felt dissatisfied. But those were the only 2 steak choices on the menu. My friend was so excited for the strawberry shortcake. But there was a ton of dry biscuit and literally no strawberry sauce. There was a bit of whipped cream and a few slices of strawberry. My friend said it was very dry and lacking. I had the creme brulee and it was an astounding upper layer and the lower layer was also amazing in consistency and sweetness. But I would have loved something dun added to it. I saw one made with homemade almond tequila somewhere... things like that. Also of their food was very bland. All the people with dietary restrictions left feeling left out. The food that was acceptable basic was very good for what it was. Nothing unique about the potatoes or steak but they were very nicely done. So...
Read moreThis is the restaurant attached to the Wilde Resort (which the bestie and I stayed at). We ate here for dinner and breakfast the following day. Long story short, we both really enjoyed our meals here.
For dinner, she ordered the fish tacos and I ordered the hummus plate. My friend loved her fish tacos. The avocado on top was neatly placed and perfectly ripe. The amount of fish in the tacos was astronomical, which we love to see!
As for my dish, I really don’t like spicy foods. When I saw white bean vegetable hummus, the last flavor profile I was thinking of was SPICY HEAT. However, the first thing I tasted was that heat licking at the back of my throat. There was this red seasoning sprinkled on top of the pile of hummus, but I dipped my carrot in the only part where there wasn’t that seasoning, and it was still spicy! My friend couldn’t taste the same spiciness I did, but then again, she can handle the heat - she prefers it, in fact!
On the other hand, I quite liked the girth of the cucumber slices and the crunch of the carrots that I used to dip into the hummus. The pita bread was also warm and very soft. I mean, I still enjoyed the taste of the hummus, I just wish they would say say on the menu, “this is spicy,” or at least put a pepper symbol by the name of the dish like some other restaurants do.
We also came here again for breakfast the following day. We both got the yogurt parfaits and split some croissants, which were to die for. They were so flaky and buttery; not to mention, the orange marmalade and citrus butter was a nice bonus. The yogurt parfaits were huge and the granola was not only delicious, but plentiful.
The service was fast, the servers were super attentive and friendly, and overall, we both enjoyed BOTH meals here. They really do a good job at...
