Our large family with 4 kids went on the whale watching/fishing excursion with Stan and Bill. They were excellent! After being evacuated from Denali and having to change all of our plans up north, we needed something to get our trip back on track with all the wonder and splendor we know Alaska has to offer. We have been to Alaska many times in the past and have taken many other whale watching excursions. This was by far the best. We had so much fun with the crew and this day ended up being the highlight of our trip. We saw many whales both breaching and feeding. We saw otters, eagles, sheep, sea lions and the list goes on. One of the really cool things we did was go to Holgate glacier. There was only 1 boat in the bay that was leaving as we pulled up to the face. They served us deli sandwiches and drinks and we had a picnic all to ourselves in front of the glacier. What a wonderful experience it was that we will never forget. The fishing was great as we all caught our limit. Bill prepared the fillets for us and they told us where to go right next to the marina to get the them frozen and shipped home, this happened without issue. Captain Stan was awesome and he let our youngest, who has to do everything, sit up in his chair and use the loud hailer to call out the depths we would be fishing at. On our way back, Bill gave us a show with the seagulls by throwing up the scraps that they would try and catch and fight over. To top it all off we were greeted by Dall's porpoise, and Captain Stan slowed down to see if they wanted to "play". They promptly came our way and proceeded to surf and play in the bow wave. They could have just rushed us back because it was the end of the day but they slowed and let all of us go on the bow to watch them. They were filled with a ton of knowledge and answered all of our kids questions with laughs and smiles. What more can you ask for? Just remember they can't control the weather or the waves, if you get seasick easily maybe boats aren't for you. Don't complain about the airplanes if you buy a house next to the airport... I cannot recommend them enough. If you are a large family like us and want to be able to "do it all" on your day in Seward, look no further.

My husband and I went out with Stan and had the whole boat to ourselves! He did an amazing job at getting us the most amazing views Seward has to offer. We saw whales, otters, sea lions and all kinds of birds. Stan was very friendly and we couldn’t have asked for a better captain. He made the experience fun and exciting. If you decide to go with this charter, you get every cent that you pay for + more. He spent extra time on the water with us and personalized our trip! Don’t miss this opportunity to limit out on fish either!

Fantastic option! Alaska Saltwater Tours was the only company I could find in Seward that offers the half sightseeing, half fishing option. The crew was fun, knowledgeable and friendly. They went the extra miles literally to show us some humpback whales feeding and then we fished close by as we watched the whales continue to feed. I’d definitely want to go with them again.

If I could give this more than 5 stars I would! Captain Stan and his wife took out our family on a wildlife viewing and fishing trip. The amount of wildlife we saw was unreal. We saw everything that alaska has to offer in the sea including humpback whales extremely close. We saw Oracs too. Everyone limited out on fish and we caught three different kinds! Stan and his wife went into such great care and detail with every piece of the trip it was truly such a wonderful and customized experience. I can not recommend them enough. If you are planning on getting out on the water this is the only way to do it! Thank you Stan and Kathy for a once in a lifetime experience we will...
