I have lived at The Mark, Shelton, Connecticut, for five years this October 2021, and I am here to tell you this apartment complex is remarkable and what I believe is the very best not only in Shelton, but in the region. Why? Let's start with the ownership and staff that manage the property. They are kind, respectful and they listen to the residents when/if there is an issue. No place is 100% perfect, but should something arise, the staff always, completely and fully takes immediate care of the situation. Let's talk about cleanliness of the buildings and landscaping of the complex. I will tell you that there is virtually not a single day that goes by where there is not a maintenance person cleaning the floors, vacuuming the carpet, cleaning the inside of the elevators, wiping down the glass doors and so forth. I mean, I literally see it every day. The landscaping is breath-taking, especially in the summer, but really all four seasons. I mean, there is landscape maintenance occurring just about every day from cutting the manicured lawn areas, planting flowers, trimming shrubs, adding new mulch....it is just beautiful and there are water sprinkler systems on the property to keep things lush and green! While I don't have a pet, the complex is pet friendly and they even have a "pet-park" for residents to take their pets too. They are very strict with residents about pet "clean-up" which is a good thing as well. How about the clubhouse and the amenities we pay a little extra for? Well, don't tell them, but I think it's a bargain! A beautiful clubhouse to sit and relax in with a gorgeous fireplace and comfy chairs and couches. There is a what I call "quiet room" with computers and books to use. There is a game/entertainment room with a full pool table and sound system (and stove and big counterspace islands to host a party if you like. There is also a beautiful dining room that residents can easily reserve (free of charge of course) and get this, a private theatre with luxury reclining seats that residents (along with their guests) can also reserve free of charge. The gym is spotless, lots of good air-flow, great equipment and they even have live plants growing on wall to give off good vibes! There are clean bathrooms in the clubhouse and even a wine-storage room. Do you get the picture at this point? Let's talk about the heated pool. Well, its huge, its always clean, there are tons of lounge chairs or if you prefer, how about your own private cabana? Outside of the pool there are areas to comfortably have lunch or dinner and three massive BBQ grills for residents to use. For your guests, there are always plenty of 'guest" parking spaces and residents have reserved parking spots of their own. There is even this wild self-serve secure package delivery room for residents that was recently installed. Those are the amenities and I am sure I have forgotten a few. As for the units, I have a two-bedroom, "Penthouse' floor unit that is full of luxury and convenience to make living my life absolutely carefree. Stainless steel appliances (and a killer dishwasher that scrubs everything!), washer and dryer, ceiling fans in master and family room (4th floor only), dining room, two gorgeous full bathrooms, and sufficient closet space (although I added some extra racks and shelving). The floors are faux hardwood, but let me tell you they are gorgeous, they last and they are an extremely highly polished glossy surface. Stunning. As far as apartment "noise" I hear nothing. I hear no one at all. That was big for me living with other people. I truly do not hear a thing! As for the residents themselves, well, living with others can be challenging at times, but the staff at The Mark lays down the "law" of basic rules to follow that is essential to keep docurum in order. I have never had a bad experience with anyone in my entire five years at The Mark. Everyone is friendly, kind and helpful. It's really amazing. They also have an incredible "grounds superintendent" (Victor) -this guy is absolutely amazing and leads a great team. I...
Read moreNot worth the money. “Luxury Living” is the closest thing to false advertisement you can find. For one there’s a new property manger every year. So a new person to recreate the wheel regularly & implement new rules. Now you can’t have more than 2 guests by that nice pool they try to sell people on. Example you have a wife/husband and 3 kids, get ready to send someone to watch from the sidelines. People rarely pick up after their dogs so watch your step. The one cleaner the property has cleans every building once a week. There’s 6 buildings plus the club house. The property should easily have 2 for that amount of area to cover. It’s always a penny pinching issue here. The sprinkler systems are bursting out of the ground so that’s nice to look at regularly. They might have switched landscaping company’s cause there’s been a noticeable increase in weeds overtaking the fronts of buildings also. Don’t ask where your amenities fees go cause you won’t understand after living here for a few months. The central location is the selling point plain and simple. Only reason they’re getting an extra star is cause of the gym. With the amount of other complexes in the area do your due diligence before...
Read moreI highly recommend The Mark! I’ve been living at The Mark Fairfield County, in Shelton CT for almost two years and I really love it! I’d been living in residential homes for the last 20+ years and I was very anxious about what apartment life would be like. Each building and their apartments have a “high-end” feel with almost 9-foot ceilings and very good, new, appliances. It’s very quiet in the apartments, they’re well insulated from most noise from your neighbors (I also lived in Manhattan for 14+ years and The Mark is much, much more quiet than NYC apartments). It’s been a wonderful place to make friends, especially at the Clubhouse which includes large stainless steel outdoor gas grills, a nice-size pool, a game room, a gym and an indoor theater. In addition to this The Mark has monthly get-togethers for residents. The staff is very friendly, professional and accommodating. The Mark is located on Bridgeport Avenue with lots of shopping and restaurants within 1-2 miles going either north or south. It’s right off Route 8 and it’s also close to the Merritt Parkway, so there is easy access to the...
